I do this every night so rarely get problems on the internet. EVERY day before shutting your computer down, CLEAN OUT THE CACHE!! That is in laymans terms, clean the history, and delete the internet temporary files. Leaving them just takes up storage space in both the hard drive and RAM on boot up. It also causes logging into sites problems.

Does this delet your browsing history and remembered passwords?

All opinions are my own!, who else would want them?

I do it once a week (Tonight before bed actually) and then switch off completely, my PC stays on all week and goes into auto shut down after 10 minutes of inaction.
I also do a full 'Spybot' sweep and run that programme Frank drew our attention to a while back. Every now and then I do a complete in depth Avast anti virus scan (This takes a couple of hours)
But as you say John, Tools> Internet options>browsing history> Delete.......Nice and fast boot up again.

It does remove browsing history Mick, but Firefox remembers my passwords to sites. If you don't clean your cache on a regular basis your computer will eventually start to run slow on the internet. It also can and does cause problems logging into sites, cause is corrupted files.
