  5. I tried some last year, Rog. They didn't seem keen and opted for their mixture of cat biscuits and mealworms.
  6. This morning I was walking around Newark and stopped on the market to pick up the usual bags of wild bird food and I notice on the shelf was bags labelled "Hedgehog food", never seen that before so next week I'll pick a bag up and try it out on the ones in my garden Rog

  8. Two of my favourite things tonight, listened to the last call of the blackbirds and fed and watered my large hedgehog. Time for a Bacardi and coke now.
  9. I have my own ideas of events but it's probably libellous to publish without proof. It seems his particular peccadillo led him to a dating site and some 'bad people'. What happened in the flat, what they did and why he was locked in is something to ponder - except I'm really not that interested.
  10. I'm struggling to take the Menzies story seriously. If someone invented the incident in a novel they'd be told it was ridiculously unbelievable. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68858604

  12. How upsetting for the owners @nonnaBnot just the fact of intrusion of their personal space but to go around totally wrecking the place. I can’t imagine how distraught they will be feeling now, it’s awful.
  13. My son has some Scandinavian customers who have bought a house not far from us. They come here every summer and about 2 weeks ago they came down to tidy up for the summer. They’d been broken into. He has video surveillance and all sorts of alarms. The thieves couldn’t get through the usual channels so they managed to break a window and get in through the cantina. Once in they practically demolished everything. Doors , windows , furniture and whatever they could damage they did. The relief was that his daughter should have gone with some friends for her birthday party and they would have been
  14. It seems the weather is really taking of with the wind behind it. This time of the year we “should” be enjoying some good weather . Yes we are having some very warm weather in fact every day for the last week we’ve been sitting sunbathing with 30 c Well it didn’t last long the wind blew and we have snow…. not quite but almost. It’s turned icy cold 7c . We stopped the CH but have put it on again. But we only have it on a couple of hours in the morning and again in the evening. The few plants we have in pots have all got new leaves and are quite forward. Figs have been forming since January an

  19. No visit to the Railway Museum PF?
  20. . From Nottinghtransport, com: "It’s great to see such positive feedback from the community! The bridge is part of the Transforming Cities initiative and aims to enhance pedestrian and cyclist connectivity across the River Trent". They pat themselves on the back and boast 83% approved the idea. But... There were 1198 responses. 83% of that is only 991, this means they based their decision on the opinion of less than 0.3% of Nottingham's residents. More than 400, almost half of those that approved the idea, thought the location was in the wrong place. Look
  21. Had a lovely day out in York today, checked the weather forecast before setting off and it looks like being a nice day but rain coming in about 14.30 so off we went, bit of traffic on the A1 for some bridge repairs north of Barnsley but other than that it was a nice drive, used the park and ride at Askham Bar, £2.40 for the two of us which was nice, first off we went for a cuppa at the Castle tea rooms plus scrambled eggs on toast just under a tenner for both of us, then a walk around all the tourist routes including a walk around the wall and a riverside walk looking at the pleasure boats, ni
  22. That's my point Col. Someone has been digging in the mire, politics and politicians are getting desperate, nasty and personal. The Tories can't convince us their policies are working, thus we have the attack on Rayner in the hope it damages Labour by association. Despite the weasel words Labour really have not presented a single itemised or realistic costed argument. I've said it so any times, they are totally bereft of any clear and communicable ideas. Now Menzies has given them a bone to chew. And so both parties are now resorting to scrabbling in the dirt of th
