  1. Past hour
  2. Spent my day (again) battling with a supposedly simple Bathroom refurb. Expensive products not living up to their 'rep' etc. Item I wanted from Screwfix is suddenly 'out of stock', except the site doesn't say so.. you are supposed to 'divine' it by clairvoyance. Simple 'clacker' basin waste turns out to have defective chrome plating... I won't go on... Try it all again tomorrow. Apparently 'God loves a tryer'.. I think he overlooked me..
  3. As I've said elsewhere.. I'm quite busy at present with a bathroom refurb, so my eye has been off the detail of politics..but... I see the Rwanda Bill has passed. We'll see what it actually DOES., apart from being Part One of the Tory Distraction Plan, in the fullness of time..but meanwhile the boats are still arriving..people are still dying, and nobody has a workable answer. Part Two of the Tory Distraction Plan.. (Just to explain.. for those who still don't understand.. the Tories absolutely cannot defend their appalling record, so they are desperately casting around
  4. Yesterday
  5. Forest - After Everton beat Liverpool 2-0 last night and putting a big dent in their premiership hopes they move themselves to 33 points, seven points clear of Forest. It looks like the battle for survival has now come down to Forest or Luton to fill that final spot. Whilst not yet mathematically certain it looks like Sheffield United are doomed and that Burnley only have an outside chance of survival.
  6. I don't have anyone on 'Ignore'. I like to hear what everyone has to say. I'm quite capable of ignoring content I find personally uninteresting etc., and perfectly capable of challenging OR ignoring views I find objectionable.
  7. Yes it was the, the upstairs side walkway protruded into the lower deck and many a passenger bumped their heads when standing up to get off the bus. The Midland General B8 from Mansfield to Nottingham via everyone's back garden was often an AEC Regent III RLH (Regent Low Height) and Barton Transport had a very special Dennis Loline II which was the lowest ever for a fully enclosed double deck bus in the UK
  8. No, I didn't look inside it - I just took the pictures! If it had the long seats upstairs I assume it is a lowbridge bus.
  9. Already painted that on Pianoman, Any idea about the seats colour, I think I remember them being red and the upstairs had the long seats as opposed to the doubles in two rows Rog
  10. That is the one glaring fault on that model that really annoys me is the bonnet top. It should be maroon not cream.
  11. Stripped this one down today ready for a bit of updating to the interior and putting some colour on the bonnet as I don't think the original full size version had that light colour but the same colour as the dark paint, WBUDC bus that used to run out of the old Broad Marsh bus station to Clifton via Trent Bridge and Wilford This model is slightly larger than my 1/76 scale one not sure if this isn't 1/50 scale, I've been meaning to getting round to changing this one since some very constructive comments from Pianoman a couple of years ago when I first posted about it
  12. The Dickinson & Morris pies sold in supermarkets are nothing like the ones they sell in their own shop, full of gristle and lacking any flavour. Last one I tried ended up in the bin. The only half way decent supermarket pork pie that I’ve found, having sampled many, is Sainsbury’s own brand, although it could do with more seasoning. Must remember to get a proper one from Chambers next time I’m in Arnold…
  13. Well when you find one, send me one .!
  14. Back in their heyday Pork Farms’ pies were as good as Dickinson and Morris’s although the latter claim to be the originator of the Melton pork pie. Nowadays pies bought from the supermarkets have the similar mass produced aura about them and you have to seek out the smaller makers to get a ‘proper’ pie. Jack Bailey at Upper Broughton was my favourite but he closed a few years ago. It’s an interesting quest to find the perfect pie. Now the pork pie season is upon us I shall pursue my investigations further.
  15. Not secret consignments of Pork Farms pies I hope.
  16. I remember SPD having the big Commer TS3 delivery lorries my mate worked on them while serving his apprenticeship at Cripps on Triumph Rd. in the early 60s.
  17. @IAN FINN, at first it were Birds Eye frozen foods then on to general deliveries in a 10 pallet Ford truck with sliding side panels.
  18. Good to see people looking after their cars here we went from a blizzard on Friday leaving 4" of snow to 21C this week the trees and shrubs dont know what to do neither do i.
  19. What were you driving at SPD Beekay?
  20. I've delivered to that shop, back in the 70s, when I worked at SPD Ltd, Glaisedale drive.
  21. I could'nt be that lucky.
  22. I thought it was going to be a jelly-filled pork pie.
