  1. In years gone by the St Ann's Well was a site of pilgrimage for the sick, the halt and the lame. They came from near and far to drink the curative waters. It seems that after many, many years the well's healing powers are once again being manifested in the area. This afternoon I happened to be taking a short cut round the back of the mosque. The blue badges were much in evidence down the double yellow lines. And remarkably those who had been unable to walk into the mosque were returning to their cars as fit as fiddles. It was taken before I was born but thought it might appeal to the young and the older members who may have some interesting stories of that older area of nottingham. While on this subject has anyone ever visited the caves beneath that area containing Tanneries and the underground slum housing. I know at one time there were guided tours of the area starting near to the entrance in Broadmarsh Centre just off Lister gate

At a time when the Police have seen their pay and pensions attacked, when they're being expected to do more with less, this Plebgate farce only serves to distract attention from the 11% pay rise our MPs are being given. Tony Parsons summed-up the "trust an MP or a policeman" question quite well though...

  13. Dry cleaning is expensive, give your clothes to a charity shop and they will clean them. Then buy them back, it works out cheaper.
