  1. Before the indignent hand wringing liberalists and self righteous start their protestations, let's just get one thing straight. The dead criminal deliberately set out to rob yet another old couple, and was fully prepared to use violence in the process. For these misguided delusional supporters to condone his actions shows the utter contempt they have for a normal civilised society, and as such should be looked upon in the same light.

  2. I’m so thankful that I don’t live on that street in Hither Green. What the ‘travellers’ are doing is nothing short of intimidation and harassment. They should be mourning their loss outside the dead bloke’s house, not on some poor soul’s garden fence. Such a weak police response to the ongoing problem too.

Another cold day out here in the land that god forgot, up early though and washed the car,the roads out here are very muddy, went to see old fella and made him a coffee and sat with him for an hour talking about owt and nowt as you do, did myself a bit of breakfast when I got home, hash brown, sausage, egg and beans with two slices of fresh bread and butter,(I'll never lose this weight) thought I would do a bit of gardening so on with the boots and gardening jacket and set too with a spade and shovel, got a small piece of the back garden cleared of grass and a few weeds, managed to get half th

  6. What a cold day today, done a bit of work in my shed and greenhouse before going to see the old fella,he had the cast off his leg yesterday and he's been fitted with some sort of support boot so he can walk on it unaided,he needs to keep that on for a couple of weeks, allowed to take it off at bedtime, he even managed to do himself a bit of dinner which is a good sign as well, although I'm not sure about what he did for dinner,it looked bloody awful, must be some sort of Yorkshire dish. Now I've seen my father eating tripe and also chitterlings but this stuff was something else,he called it BAG, h

  13. That's the Trent End of my memories, we always stood level with the eighteen yard line in the East Stand. Bovril and a pie at half time on a cold February Saturday afternoon. Hurrying back to the car to listen to the results on Sports Report and driving home with the heater on full blast to thaw out your feet. A time when all the games were played on Saturday afternoon and often midweek games too. Today's overpaid snowflakes would be up in arms. We get some live games on free to air TV and I am glad I don't have to pay to watch this negative football, at the edge of the penalty area

  14. Let's set the record straight regarding categorising different groups and classes of people into the revelant boxes. There's good, bad and indifferent in every walk of life, from royalty to street cleaners. Things have been like that since the creation of civilisation, and will never alter. I'm certain that all Nottstalgia members appreciate this, and form their views accordingly.

  15. Good post, Ian ..... I don't believe we should ever make sweeping statements about groups of people, whether they be of royal blood, unemployed or homeless, and that also applies to various ethnic groups, and of course, travellers. I have had several traveller friends over the years and have always tried to see each one as an individual, the same as anyone else. Of course, there are people in most, if not all, the groups mentioned above who 'abuse the system' to varying degrees but I don't believe that 'tarring everyone with the same brush' is the answer. There, I've said my piece and

  17. What they need is a bit of Ray Mallon's zero tolerance. It only needs a determined approach that is maintained. Tell them they have got 30 minutes to provide documentation for their vehicles and you'd have to be quick to get out of their way as they bolted for the exit.

  27. Yes and they often start roadside fires that can get away if not acted on quickly by the MFS or the CFS Most major fires outside the metropolitan areas are started by sparks from welding or angle grinding, or from agricultural equipment hitting rocks and sparking. We have even had fires caused by the hot exhausts from cars parking on long dry grass.
