  1. No reversing was permitted by NCT when routes changed to OMO. Many routes had to be modified to accomadate rhis ruling. I knew the 22 route very well having done many a shift on 1,7 & 22 when they ran from Bulwell & later Bilborough depots. The present service 79 basically covers all those 3 routes combined in to one route these days.

  2. I would never have gone onto Melbourne Road on a bus although I do remember the clock. Had an aunt live at 25 Melbourne. Living at Eastwood, the journey would be to travel into Nottingham on posh blue bus, B1, B3 or C5, do whatever shopping it was or whatever and then go and see Grandma on Minver on the way back home hence catching 30 or 62 on Friar Lane. The journey back home would have been either a walk around Minver, down Rosslyn and then Bells Lane to catch a posh Blue Bus on Nuthall Rd. Cinder Hill or alternatively (for a change) walk further around Minver, down Wendover and catch a posh

  3. She seems to be behaving herself at the moment finding the next episodes. Probably lulling me into a false sense of security. Glad I got it when it was on offer in case I throw it out the window!

  4. The Wimpey estate Loppylugs is referring to is on Stockhill Lane, just along from Cinderhill Park. They built a fire station there too.

  5. I remember when we'd moved to Bestwood Village when I was 14, I'd lay in bed with the window wide open listening to the night sounds of the village. There was a slipping screaching conveyor belt on the pit screens, a compressor coming on & off load, a Mackemsons bus pulling away from the pit baths stop, a Midland General Bristol Lo-Decker B8 bus pulling away from the bowling green at end of Park Road, a coal train chugging & clanking on the railway lines to Hucknall, Linby & Colvo pits, the boozed up boozers coming out the Top Pub (Bestwood Hotel) & Welfare shouting "GOODNIGHT,

  12. Getting a bit worried, that last post makes some sense! I tend to lay in bed wondering why I am not asleep yet.

  13. I lay in bed thinking last night.... If a black hole can have a quantum superposition, & that superposition means said black hole can be in two places at once, then I speculate that the mass of the each BH would be halved as the mass would be shared out between them. If the mass of each BH is less than the BH forming mass then would the two superposition'd BH's then no longer be BH's? I'm wondering if this phenomena could explain gamma ray bursts or fast radio bursts as they could be superposition pair black holes going "POP." If however the mass isn't halved, or extreme gravitational fiel

  16. Finally after battling with her all morning Alexa has finally found the podcast episode I want. She has tried to play me all sorts of strange things (even a religious thing at one point) and I have found myself arguing with her I’m sure she gets impatient with me as sometimes she just switches herself off and I’m sure she sulks when I keep asking her for the same thing with the words swopped round to see if she can find it, plus she keeps advising me stitcher has some disturbing content (yes I know crime podcasts which are what I listen to). Got to the stage where I am not sure if

  19. Setting off for Nottm in an hour or so. Just the usual flying visit to see family. Will no doubt end up in the Gala tonight playing Bingo, but I've not won 'owt for years... Just been checking the weather forecast. At least 14 solid days of showers and a high of about 18 degrees... at least here in the Grand Duchy.. The weather folks are going on about this being 'unusual' for August, but in my experience August is often a wet miserable month. It's being so cheerful as keeps me going...
