  1. First - I will take a look at imgur as well Second - the chickens wings were clipped this morning. The main offender; Queenie tried to fly off but went to hide in a corner. And guess what? There in that hidden corner she had built a nest and there were 19 eggs in it! So, she has redeemed herself 18 of the eggs passed the water test and you can guess what we had for lunch. Not all 18 of course.

  3. It looks as if Wolverhampton are heading for major restrictions again. I must say that when we were first on lockdown, but could go out for shopping/exercise etc. I was quite proud of the reactions of people we passed on our cycles, and there seemed to be a feeling of unity around and most people seemed to be in fairly good spirits about the situation. I got the feeling that it was because we were all pulling together, in such a dire situation. BUT In the last month or so, I have witnessed a complete u turn. It is shameful how so many people don't seem to give a toss now.

  4. Last night on Italian news, 13,000 new cases in 24 hrs in GB. Showing scenes of hundreds of people all muffled up together and very few masks. Aren't they bothered or are they stupid? Also showed some scenes in England protesting and police shoving the protesters back. None were wearing masks. It can't be easy having another lockdown but the problem is we all have to obey the rules if we want to beat this thing. Our numbers are always increasing but go down only to rise again. Seems like there are stupid people everywhere. Covid apart from causing so many deaths has ruined life for everyo

  5. Lovely to see a reference to the Marsdens store,,as it became a Vernons self service store about 1962,,the first self service store in St Anns, I was sent there for the opening two weeks, and later same year as relief manager for mr Gamble, funny how his name just came to me, I particulary recall this shop because it was the busiest i had worked at,at that time,,very small but employed about 20 staff, forever having to go out and push the blind back after a trolley bus had nudged it,, Thanks Engineer for reviving some nice memories,,

  6. Trouble is Brew, we, the ones who are obeying the rules and doing as we're told, we are the people who nowadays seem to be in the minority. You toe the line and are looked on as being the oddball. Some folks must be on a death wish or couldn't care less.

  8. I really feel for the hospitality industry but is it really necessary to go the pub? It seems to me from the press and published pictures there is an inverse ratio, as alcohol consumption goes up, inhibitions come down and soon it's back to mingling with no thought of distancing. We tried to carry on as near 'normal' as we could within the rules but quite frankly it's just not posible. So we are rapidly becoming hermits and as nonna noted, the less you go out the easier it becomes to just not bother. Soon we will be living life vicariously through our TV and computer screens with no phys

  11. Still going wrong, another scoreless loss, this time at home to Cardiff City. I am sure Ben would tell you that the main objective of football is to score more goals than the team you are playing against. We have bought a defender and a goalkeeper most recently and if that bolsters the defence all well and good. If the other team does not score we will not lose any games but unless we start to score goals we will not win any games either. The upside is that the "Sheep" have not won a game yet but at least they have scored one goal.

  15. To be honest the UK has lurched from crisis to another during the pandemic starting with PPE for health workers, too late lockdown, not testing enough at first as we didn’t have tests, letting people from abroad come back and not make them isolate (they were just politely asked to do it) and seed the virus all over the country, track and trace which is woefully inadequate and seems to be getting worse. The list goes on and on. The testing situation is the latest in a long list of abysmal failures of seemingly inept politicians who seem to be completely out of their depth or are totally incompe

  19. And not a hope in hell of paying a 10k fine so there was absolutly no point doing it. Unless it's an object lesson and makes a good headline to keep the riff-raff in check.

  20. That has happened quite often in recent months. The media give big headlines to the fact that an area/factory/pub/restaurant/etc etc has had a burst of outbreaks and everyone needs to isolate (which I don't disagree with). But then you never hear any more about those locations because the problem is sorted without any major drama, and everything goes back to normal. But the media never report that part of the story. When it's not click-bait, they lose interest.

  34. The snowflakes rule Gem, if a snowflake lost a friend or relative to a terrorist attack the snowflakes would soon change their tune. A terrorist is a terrorist in any language, Jamima Begum chose to join a terrorist organisation, although she now states she never actively took part in any terrorist activity, then her prove that. A friend of mine lost his son to a terrorist attack in Afghanistan while serving in the British army, some things families never get over, ask these people what their thoughts are regarding Miss Begum. So much for cultural enrichment, it never worked &a
