  1. Thanks for the Good Wishes, I'll pass them on. Highlight of the day was at 3pm. when the 'Portal' device (Xmas present!) on the TV lit up and my Daughter in Law had programmed a family meet up, son & wife,2 grandsons & wives, the 2 great grand children and then our daughter in Arnold joined in so we had 5 pictures on the screen for an hours chat. They closed the chat when the light started flashing again and our daughter & son in law down in the Isle of Wight came on for another 50 minutes chat, very thirsty time so good job I had a couple of bottles open.

  3. I never saw The Supremes in their day but did manage to see Diana Ross at the Arena a few years ago. What a Diva she is! Mary Wilson was a lovely lady and had great talent. A friend of mine (gay) has seen her perform at Butlins in recent years and been on stage singing with her, even posting a video of it on social media. Today he is absolutely devastated. We seem to be losing so many stars recently, performers who meant so much in my teenage years. It’s a sign of ageing I suppose. RIP Mary

  4. Boris didn't do it. The NHS did..despite the blond clown. And yes, the EU messed up over acquiring the vaccine, but it doesn't follow that Brexit was a good move overall. Just sayin'.

  5. I think this has become a bit confusing and mixed up. The thread was started by Albert Smith to celebrate the birthday of his wife Barbara (in the photo in the newspaper). Nonna's birthday is in November.

  6. It seems to be the first question asked now when you meet an acquaintance. “Have you had your jab yet?” The common side effects are a feeling of self satisfaction and smugness!

  13. Old videotape I think.. but I always like to see the early vids if I can, in preference to just a picture of a label. But try this:

  15. Wow RR that's more than 3 lines!. The chances of catching Covid are quite small and dying from it even less of that I have no doubt. A risk however is still a risk. Using the lottery as an example the odds of the jackpot are around 45,000,000 : 1 yet someone will win and that's in a much smaller population than Covid has to choose from. I don't understand why you feel a sense of guilt, what heinous crime do you think you committed? All I see is a man looking out for his mam. You had the same information as everyone else and although not totally convinced still wen

  17. I still cannot believe that Mrs Red or I have not caught it (unless we’ve had it?) we’ve both worked throughout, she working daily almost face to face with the elderly & children, me side by side breathing the same air as the other 160 (we didn’t have masks until October) then outside door to door 800/900 drops (no washing or toilet facilities in a van & everywhere's closed) plus sat side by side, front to back with strangers for 4.30 hours on a flying tube to Turkey, the last game @ the city ground with 29000 others, a crazy weekend in Blackpool where you would think Covid ever existe

  18. I 'cut' it with a stiff broom several times a year otherwise NO maintenance required and from a short distance it still looks good but a close look does show up several small patches of moss which is why I asked for suggestions for removal or prevention? i.e. do the chemical 'Moss killers' etc. stain the 'grass' ?

  20. DunnLine were definitely at Nuthall Road in 1986 as used to see their buses causing mayhem on the road as they tried to get in/out of the tight driveway - whether they then moved to Catchems or already had a second depot I don't know......
