  3. Cables are a pain Carni ours seem to enjoy showing us all the internal wires, especially this iPad , it has a cover and there's little space to get the other end out without damaging the cable itself. At the moment it's taped up with black tape. The other iPad is 8 yrs old and the USB split in half . That's glued with superglue. They both work until the battery goes flat. Feel like putting them both outside to let the sun recharge them. It's 20 degrees.

  4. Carni I would say you almost certainly snagged the cable and damaged the connection, hopefully not internally in the laptop. The easiest way is a generic replacement charger. Ebay do them for about £15.

  5. If you're sitting at a desk or table Carni, why not just leave it connected. That way you'll be running on mains rather battery. I've got a 12" lap top that won't hold a charge, but works fine on mains. You can't replace the battery unfortunately.

  8. They're just like us, really! We're only animals, after all, despite our high opinions of ourselves. I sincerely hope your little feathered patient makes a full recovery, PP.

  9. Phil, back in 1989/90 I used to drive steam locos. Mind you, it was 3.5 and 5 inch gauge, up at Tonbridge Model Engineering track.

  10. To be honest I can remember the faces of most of the instructors but not a single name. I moved on to Annesl;ey after Moorgreen, where I lasted until November 1969. I lived at 51 Byron Road in "The Rows".
