Feeling very relieved tonight after hearing about the tornadoes in Kentucky. I have a dear friend who lives in Owingsville. Fortunately the tornadoes missed there but they had severe storms. Anyway had an email from her that she’s ok so imyvery relieved.

The anti-vaxxer was no doubt a Jehovah Witness too. Hard to fathom what goes on inside their brains.

This is the problem. We do need an elected body to run the system. It could be used, however, to gauge public opinion prior to a Parliamentary vote. The problem is there are so many people out there who are indifferent to the workings of our democracy or just plain stupid.

Brew , I thought it was a serious point. There are times when I am sarcastic, ironic and attempting satire. Over something as obviously inappropriate as our system of governance I am straight down the line. It is arcane and based on preserving a now several hundred year old monarchic meritocracy , it is not a democratic system formulated to achieve the best outcomes for the majority of the population. We should not be surprised when things do not happen as well as they might!

After a good day yesterday with Joe Root and Dawid Malan holding off the Aussie attack and both scoring in the eighties, England turn up today and play collapso cricket losing 8 wickets for 74 runs leaving Australia just 20 runs to win. At least it was not an innings defeat. In summary :- Can't Bat Can't Bowl Can't field Otherwise not a bad team

Many countries including OZ should do what Singapore has done. Make those that are not vaccinated that catch Covid pay for their home and hospital treatment.

I'm really looking forward to Christmas day when we can have a proper dinner, you know, corned beef, egg, chips and mushy peas !! Real meals.

SG. Good warm home grant . Lucky you, I think we get £10 allowance sent once a year. Nice but not much use. I'm dreading our electric bill coming in as this year my daughter and I have made over 70 gingerbread houses. We've said " no more" 3 times but today people are asking for more so lets see how we feel. My daughter apart from her restaurant is producing hampers with all sorts of things , fancy biscuits, jars of savoury and sweet contents ( salted caramel) mmmmm and decorated chocolate bark. I think she'll be glad when its all over. I know I will, i havent even thought about us for Christm

Well, I've just arrived at Thoresby this afto. All masked up and ready to go. Wiv a bit of luck and the Good Lord willing,I should be able to make the Wheelhouse on Tuesday. Had a shaky start on Wednesday, had a bout of Vertigo after coming out the shower, but after a couple of days rest, we left Sussex this morning.

80% no vax here in Italy are in intensive care and 4 elderly ladies have been taken out of their ward to make room for some of these inconsiderate persons. The hospitals are getting so concerned by the amount of new cases that urgent cancer patients and others are not able to get their treatments. I know some people wont have the vax because of health reasons but those that have been vaccinated are giving the no vax the sense of freedom to walk around spreading the virus to the general public. Today they said that a greater percentage of no vax cases now regret not getting vaccinated. Sor
