  1. After a long hiatus from my gigantic 8 legged nemeses ( google assured me this is the plural of nemesis although my iPad thinks it is nemesis’s) I went in my side room this morning and there was the biggest spider I have ever seen chilling on the wall. Big black thing built like Anthony Joshua. Went in to get my spider repatriation kit. Can you remember the scene in Jaws when Brody is dumping chum in the water and the shark surfaces and looks at him and he (Brody not the shark) says “We need a bigger boat”, well it was a bit like that I definitely needed a bigger spider kit. So went back

  2. Just been for a swim. They had to use the hoist to get me in and out of the pool, but once in it was fab. Actually managed to swim a few lengths and get some upper body/cardio exercise. During kids hols they have adults only swimming most mornings from 6:30 to 10:30. I'll be having some of that !!

  10. As you might have realised by now.. I'm into the history and family trees of popular music. The other night I watched a film called 'Last Night in Soho', which was a fairly entertaining sort of ghost story, featuring a young girl being unwillingly transported back to the 1960s in her sleep. At some point..the sound track featured the song 'I've Got My Mind Set On You', which I only knew from this version by George Harrison. It had never occurred to me to ask who wrote the song... but the version in the film was not George's. It t

  11. No doubt that H-D-H were a terrific songwriting team and possibly the greatest for Motown. However the Motown story, like that of popular music in general, is far from that simple. Eddie Holland was also a singer and had a few hits before quitting performance due to chronic stage fright. Here's a summary of the many others who were big songwriting contributors to Motown: https://www.udiscovermusic.com/stories/motown-sound-producers-and-songwriters/ I don't think the link above mentions R. Dean Taylor, who, though probably better known here for hits like ' Gott
