  1. Evening all! First off, sorry I missed Loppy's news. Hope your recovery is continuing Loppy. Peveril Peril. You too. . Your positive attitude is an inspiration. As for me, part of the reason I've not been on much lately is because my new knee joint really doesn't like the PC chair and typing on my phone is a PITA. Knee is mostly much stronger and I can push upstairs with it now, but plagued by a clicking tendon on outside which gets sore if I do too much. Also struggling to keep the swelling down. That said, I've already had an initial 'pre-op' for the second kn

  2. Had a few nasty periods this year. In hospital again with heart issues. Regular nose bleeds and coughing up blood. Near death experience with covid plus some bad days with arthritis flare ups. But I have got through it and today I feel great. Had chest CT scan last month showing an anomaly in upper right chamber. Anther scan due in Nov. This morning I performed comfortably well on the indoor bike and rowing machine. No breathing, heart or headache issues. Starting to enjoy the daily work out again. Life is good

  4. That’s encouraging. We’ve got an air fryer cook book arriving tomorrow so we’ll give it bash this weekend.

  6. When I was a child, my paternal grandparents lived in Humber Road, Beeston (the house was demolished many years ago). It was quite close to the Humber factory, part of which I believe still stands. It has some rather decorative wall plaques on its facade.

  8. Use the air fryer they cook in less time and make a great job of it; we have had one a few months and the wife only uses the oven for yorkshire puddings now. The one we have has three shelves in it so she is able to cook different items at the same time.

  9. We’ve got an electric oven and a gas hob. That was deliberate as we used to get a lot of power cuts out here. We’ve recently bought one of those new fangled air fryers which is supposed to fry, grill, bake, make the tea and sweep the floor and everything else. We haven’t had the guts to try it out yet! Don’t want to ruin the dinner!

  12. That reminds me of when I'd done something stupid, I'd say "so & so did it as well" Mam'd say "if so & so put their head in a gas oven would you?" I'd then stand there looking gormless...

  15. Of course they are dangerous, if you stick your head in the oven and turn it on it is not going to do you any good as is turning the gas on and not lighting it and then lighting up a ciggie.

  16. Football News County - Still unbeaten after a 2-0 win at home against lowly Aldershot Town and now in 3rd place behind Chesterfield and Wrexham. They play Dorking Wanderers away on Saturday Stags - Disappointing scoreless home draw against mid table Carlisle United. Next up away against Gillingham Forest - 2nd from the bottom they play 10th placed Fulham at home on Friday night. Fulham have not won away yet this season so Forest really need to win this one.

  17. Thanks y'all You're making me feel better already. One of the nurses asked me if I'd learned to say 'y'all' yet. I didn't try to teach her 'ayagorraweyah' Thought it might be a bit much. I think one of the first questions each one asked was, "Where you from."?
