  1. County - Lose 2-3 at home to Coalville Town, who are 5th in the Southern League Premier Division, in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round. Not sure if they played a full-strength team. Next home game is Friday night against lowly Maidstone who are in a relegation spot. Stags - Beat mid table Walsall 2-1 at Field Mill. Now only one point from an automatic promotion spot with a game in hand over Northampton who are above them in the table. Next game away at relegation threatened Crawley Town. Last because they are last Forest - Woeful Forest lose 1-0 away to Wolverhampton Wand

  4. As C-T, I think the planners had a lot of land to play with and possibly had a guideline in the Nottm Corporation Architects office maybe along the lines of , If a new estate road serves over xxx houses then it has to be a certain corridor / road width, for the pleasing effect and possible expansion. Looking at the map below, the Bulwell end does sort of line up with Highbury Estate. If it had maybe intended to go that route, although it looks a mess crossing 3 rail lines it's not quite as complicated as it seems as one rail line is below the road level, one is above the road

  5. We brought our first house when master was 40. When we married in the 65 we needed £100deposit and all we had was £75 but at the time to brower money for a house you had to be earning 3 times your weekly wage, and even though I was a qualified hair stylist my money did not help as my wages was only £5 00 a week. So when the opportunity came up for us to go and live and work in South Africa we went and we have never looked back, we returned to the UK in the 70s

  7. Just before Khazi Kuarteng got the boot today, I was discussing the govt. with someone on f'book. She thought the Tories just needed to step up, stop squabbling and take responsibility for their mistakes. As you might guess, my view is rather different. "I'd agree that in the short term it is the responsibility and the duty of the Tory party as a whole to 'own' their mistakes and make reparations. It's no good for them to keep going on about the support with energy costs while ignoring the TWO elephants in the room representing huge hikes in mortgage costs and more general inflation w

  9. Until I do Mary, you can practice the Tim Tam Slam, here are the instructions... You need 1 Tim Tam biscuit and a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, (You could try a Penguin biscuit) Take a small bite out of one corner of the biscuit Take a small bite out of the opposite corner Hold the biscuit at one of the unbitten corners Dunk one end of the biscuit into the coffee Suck really, really hard on the other end of the biscuit until you get the hot coffee in your mouth Slam the entire biscuit into your mouth and enjoy that hot gooey chocolatey taste Repea
