  1. He's generated a lot of publicity about the book whether it was intentional or not, and people are talking about it and buying it, so maybe he's not that dumb. On the basis that there's no such thing as bad publicity, he's on to a winner. Presumably he needs the money. This has appeared in various places on the internet; it's a bookshop window display in Swindon with two books side-by-side.

  2. Perhaps it's genetic. After all, his mother wasn't averse to washing her dirty linen in public. I don't have a copy but if I did it would be hanging on a nail in the outside loo. That's all it's fit for.

  4. My son, who spends most of the year working in Tanzania, today sent me the entire 471 pages of Prince Harry’s book, on WhatsApp! I never had any intention of buying the book and probably won’t be reading what’s arrived via the internet. From what I’ve seen and heard so far on TV he’s put all our military, Royal Family and the entire British population in danger of retaliation from the Taliban. What a sad, mixed-up young man Harry has turned out to be, I won’t comment on the woman pulling his strings!

  5. Yes. I remember in an interview on the tele when he first got in with Meghan his words were something like "I know it looks like history repeating itself". The idea should be to learn from history - ie don't do it!

  6. Clifton, I saw that as well, very clever display. I have mixed views about the whole Harry debacle. I can see why he left the firm but I am also married to a 22 years in the Army veteran and what he recalls on that score publicly is definitely not acceptable. Considering they moved for privacy and more security, he hasn’t done them or indeed Invictus any favours. I did watch the Tom Brady interview and was glad I did instead of just reading the media who have just pulled out the sensational headlines without the full story behind them. I won’t be reading the book though, think it would actual

  7. This very unbalanced and easily led bloke is now whingeing about his words (or those of his ghostwriter) being taken out of context. He, of all people, since he's apparently an experienced killer, should know what to expect if you stick your head above the parapet.

  8. Why are you all so critical of Harry and Meghan? There is possibly much we don’t know about the reasons for their leaving the UK. I personally don’t take much notice of the tittle tattle put out by many of the newspapers and other media. They probably didn’t make the decision to leave the UK lightly and I feel we should respect their choice. Rant over ….

  11. Congratulations to Prince Harry ‘Spare’ becomes the fastest selling non-fiction book ever! Doff my cap to Owd Harry, protecting his wife, kids & Diana's memory, any Father, husband, Son or man would do the same.

  12. Yes thanks for posting the video, certainly emphasises my comment about sensational media headlines without including the whole context.

  14. Being slightly off piste with the Spare controversy I do, however, remain convinced that Mr Privacy is not of royal descendant. I cannot bring myself to call these upstarts royal, just opportunists who have managed to remain as state figureheads but nothing more than that. As most observers of the Charlie Diana feud, it must be plain to see that Mr Privacy is closely suspected as being a Mr Hewitt and therefore has no royal standing at all and as such he is nothing more than a mere commoner.

  15. He's very much in the mould of his 2x great uncle, Edward aka David. His wife is almost a reincarnation of Wallis Warfield Simpson. She even looks like her. History repeats itself. Intellectually challenged, wealthy male falls into the clutches of much brighter, avaricious female. "Never mind the title, David. Get the money" was her philosophy. If you watch the archive films of the two of them together, the body language tells a pathetic tale. She couldn't abide him but you don't part with a goose that lays golden eggs. Result: misery. Pretty much the same in the current situation, I suspect.

  16. County - In a battle for the points at Meadow Lane against 9th placed Boreham Wood. After going behind just before half time they came out after the break and within ten minutes had equalised. In front of 6,000 fans it stayed that way until the final whistle. Wrexham are breathing down their necks.

  17. We’ve never been successful growing lupins, they seem to attract greenfly, wherever we’ve lived. Despite that I do love to see them growing in the borders, and persevere every year.

  18. Great Aunt Lily's garden was full of rhubarb! Nothing else, just rhubarb. Again, it spread from year to year. My sister and I used to walk to Great Aunt Lily's house on Reydon Drive most Sunday mornings while my mum was preparing lunch. From her kitchen window, we could see Puffing Billy and there was always Two Way Family Favourites on the radio. When rhubarb was in season, we were never permitted to go home without a huge newspaper parcel full of the stuff. To this day, I can't abide rhubarb although it's brilliant at cleaning burnt saucepans!

  19. We're of a similar mind. We do eat lots of vegetables and we had a thought of having wholly vegetarian meals occasionally. We looked at the vegetarian ready meals available for a trial and found them very unappealing and the vegetarian cook book I bought had nothing that tempted us. It's quite amusing to see that a lot of veggie foods are made to look like meat products! My favourite long standing vegetarian meal is our homegrown beef tomatoes, sliced, with olive oil, wine vinegar, sprinkled with chopped chives or spring onions and seasoned with salt and freshly ground pepper, with wholemeal b

  20. Grew these from seed in 2020 and had a decent show, cut them down to ground level when they had finished and left them in the ground all winter, last years show was even better, once again cut to ground level in December and left in the ground, see what happens this year Rog

  21. The references to ‘posh’ Grammar Schools and High Pavement in particular I have found very interesting. @Beekay mentions that lots of the boys were from council estates Strelley, Bilborough etc. and Bulwell, but quite a few were from Radford and Hyson Green. Our HP under 15 Rugby team at that time provided about 9 of the 15 members of the Nottingham Schoolboys Under 15 Team and we saw what ‘Posh’ was when the Nottingham team played a match at a Public School somewhere near Clumber Park. I cannot remember its name. A lot of the pupils came to watch the match, which we lost. The enormous ch

  24. As far as I'm aware, I haven't levelled any criticism. I see a facial similarity between Meghan and Wallis (which is purely subjective) and observed that neither avoided a photo opportunity when one presented itself. Harry wasn't even mentioned.
