This reminds me of an incident many years when I was a driver. A bloke got on our bus on Aspley Lane and asked, "Are you going to town"? My conductor replied with a yes. The bloke said, "Well you've still Strelley estate on the front"! Quick as a flash my mate said, "If you look, we've got Birds Eye fish fingers on the side, but we don't sell 'em". I nearly fell off the seat with laughter.4 points

Sandtoft is one place I'm planning on visiting this year, they have two Nottingham trolley buses and one doing runs so hopefully I can have a ride on it, thanks for the info Barrie Rog1 point

Found a super you tube video, 'Welcome to the trolleybus museum at Sandtoft'. There's some cracking footage on there you might enjoy, unless of course you are already aware of it. There's a whole list of stuff from them, which I'm going to enjoy wading through.1 point

I've also got a horse drawn tram (single decker) I'm converting too but that's taking a bit longer for some reason Rog1 point

My latest project, A Raleigh rotorvator er I mean a Raleigh Activator, made mid to late 1990's, heavy, rubbish suspension, cheap components, uncomfortable and the tyres go where they feel like but when I worked at the factory in the 90's I welded hundreds if not thousands of those back ends so I got a bit nostalgic when this came up for sale It looks a lot cleaner now after a good pressure wash, oil and grease and gears and brakes set up Rog1 point

Those were the days when I was young living in a terrace house council said not fit for humans. We had buses every 3 mins into the city, which carried on down to Wilford bridge, We were spoilt. Sorry big ears but we had a few problems, 1/ With them there, buses being trolley buses they came off the wires quite often. Drat you had to wait 10mins for them there poles to be put back on. 2/ Wet, cold, windy just finished work 40- 47 bus at the bus stop, ran like hell and the conductor waited till you were inches from the bus THEN!!! TING TING the 40 47 left you standing. Moving to Huc1 point

Forest have a difficult game against Newcastle tomorrow evening and they desperately need to get a least a point. A loss would likely see them nearer the relegation zone at the end of the weekend. Steve Cooper has publicly stated that signing Lingard was a mistake. Apparently he's been paid £180,000 a week and contributed very little. That's been a very costly mistake by Mr Cooper and it isn't just the money. The rest of the squad are probably pretty demoralised by what's gone on with “superstar” Lingard and it's showing in the team's performances. I don't imagine Ryan Yates earns a1 point

Glad it all worked out in the end Phil. Before we left Nottingham in 1987, I'd heard rumours of that car park that there were gangs in there who demand a payment for "looking after" your car while you were away. Another ruse was to charge you before you could take your car out of the car park. Don't know how true this was but I would never use it.1 point

It was very scary in that car park. Even I felt uneasy as I never venture into Nottingham at night due to the potential of getting mugged. She called us rather than her six foot boyfriend because we lived closer! I did remind her we were both OAP’s!1 point

It was released in 69 and I don't think I'd ever heard it since then, until I was digging around on Youtube a few months ago. And then I found I remembered it really well.1 point

What a horrible experience for your daughter, Phil. It must have been unnerving for her being on that deserted floor of the car park. Good thing that mum and dad were able to come to her rescue!1 point

We had a call at 7.15pm yesterday evening from our daughter whose car wouldn’t start and she was stuck in the Victoria Centre car park on the deserted third floor. She was unable to get a reply from the AA. She was panicking! I grabbed my portable jump starter and we both set off. We arrived half an hour later to meet a rather frightened young lady. The empty floor was very eerie! My starter pack had no effect on what was obviously a very depleted battery. I could get no phone response from the AA either so I contacted them via their app. This produced a reaction and after a wait of over an ho1 point
