  1. Stags - After a brave run in the FA Cup mid table Grimsby Town held the Stags to a goal less draw at Field Mill last night. It was a game with not many chances for either side and almost certainly ends the Stags chance of an automatic promotion spot. They are at home against the side just below them, Sutton United on Saturday. County - Home against relegation strugglers Scunthorpe United on Saturday, a game they should win. County's main rival Wrexham have what looks like an easy home game against 18th placed York City. Forest - Home against Wolves on 1st April, after

  2. Had a terrific morning with one of my sons over Breakfast in Bulwell....Not seen him for 4 months.....he's been working all over East Africa.......he's been filling me in on his experiences from Somalia to Madagascar...he's now home for a few weeks..at least i'll have a a bit of time now not to worry about him... The trouble with having Sons who are hell bent on experiencing the World..is they don't realise how much i worry......although i love to hear their stories when they return........

  3. Andy loves Rwanda, he’s been working there for 2 or 3 years and before the idea of sending those illegal immigrants there and then the ‘do-gooders’ stopping the flights. He’s always said it’s a beautiful clean country and lovely people. He recently sent a video he took as he travelled along a main road in Kigali. I must say that I’d be very happy to be sent there, it looked like a holiday destination, four lane highway, with central reservation planted with palm trees, excellent road markings, pedestrian crossings and NO POT HOLES! He’ll be back in England next week and then straight back

  6. I worry about my two boys, especially the youngest one, constantly Ben. He’s spent most of the past few years working overseas, mainly in Tanzania and Rwanda. When he’s in Tanzania he nips over to Zanzibar for the weekend (which looks idyllic) just a quick ferry ride. He’s in Central America at the moment running construction contracts in Suriname. He rang us yesterday and suddenly the line went dead. We just thought it was a bad connection but he called us back a while later and said he’d been driving through a forested area and was surrounded by armed police, wanting to know who he was

  8. I loved the Beatles from the first time I heard 'Love Me Do', even though I hadn't seen them. It's a moot point, but I reckon they'd have succeeded whatever they wore. Although the mop tops and collarless suits certainly helped them to stand out I still reckon their distinctive songwriting, harmonies etc was what put them head and shoulders above the rest. Incidentally, I seem to recall Manfred Mann dressing pretty 'Beatnik-ish' in their early days, when like most UK bands, their hits were mostly U.S. covers. I'd only put three 60s white bands close to the Beatles in terms of or
