  1. There are those green side lenses again, must be a safety feature, they all seem to have them. Looking forward to the finished article.

  3. I once had a boat with a a Perkins 4.108 diesel. I was taking it up to Newark Marina from Farndon on a cold March day to sell it. The engine cut out just by Kelham weir. I had forgotten to turn on the fuel tap! You can’t start an old diesel under those circumstances without bleeding the fuel system. Fortunately I had on board with me the chief engineer (later to become the MD) of Nottingham City Transport who quickly bled the system and got the engine running before we went over the weir. Another lucky escape for me!

  7. Something has been "not quite right" at the City Ground for many, many years. Steve Cooper pulled them out of the doldrums and managed to get them promoted but it looks like they are back in the same old ways. I will say it again "you can't win matches without scoring goals"

  8. Wrexham's convincing win over Yeovil last night has made it even harder for Notts to take the National League title. It's still mathematically possible for the Magpies to nick it but it's looking very unlikely now. The Wrexham win condemned Yeovil to relegation which is remarkable if you remember they were playing in The Championship only 10 years ago. On Saturday Notts travel to already relegated Maidstone for what should be an easy win on paper but as Brian Clough famously said the game is played on grass not paper lol. Kicking off at 6:30 Wrexham are at home to Boring Wo

  9. Lizzie, I remember that topic, I think Nonna started it, I posted quite a few pictures on it though, I remember you posting pictures of your Grey Fergie and was there a small Kabota tractor or similar, Ian Finn, just for you, this old Chaseside is slowly turning into a rust pile at the end of our village so I took some pictures before it eventually disappears, Letsavagoo, I think the softer light given off by oil/paraffin/carbide gives for a much more atmospheric feeling, what a lovely picture Rog

  10. I hope Mansfield can manage promotion this year, they were so close last season. Kind of given up on Forest and it’s so stressful following them, (although I haven’t been to a game for 3 seasons) But I’ve got fingers and toes crossed for Notts to move up to a proper league this term, damn Wrexham! It’s difficult for me, even though my lovely Dad played for Notts from 1939 til he went into the RAF in 1942, because a good friend of ours, Ben Robinson of Burton Albion FC, his daughter Fleur is the CEO of Wrexham after cutting her teeth at Burton. Hopefully both teams get promoted!
