My mam used to work in one of those pork farm shop in nottm years ago she'd bring home scotch eggs , pasties, and pork pies lovy to remember . Don't know if those pork farms shop are still around anymore , but i am sure someone will tell me !

Me and my brother went morley senior , we used to get bullied alot for some reason my tormentors were Ian campbell, a fat lad Gary something or other and a skinny kid who was called Cliff, i punched him in the face because i was tired of the bullying, we turned out as mates as i remember going for tea at his house, Also my brother kevin had an indian sweetheart there , can't remember her name maybe jitra ? There was one lad who walked me home protecting me from the bullies his name was robert ? Armstrong. -

St augustines that's the one where we were marched down the road two by two to the church wasn't guys , that echo in the church scared me ! I used to walk to school there via Dame agnes street . -

They sent my brother to that school, God knows why , i was as daft as him as a lad ,but i turned out alright ,but he enjoyed it despite the stigma of being labelled a rosehill bright spark ! -

Hi Jill, i remember at alderman.w.derbyshire school , i was about 16 getting ready to leave at easter , we had an english teacher which i feel sorry about now , as we used to give her an hard time , one time i was being foolish , and she said don't be so facetious, and told me to stand outside the class , she stormed out , took me in the little store cupboard and said take down your trousers , well, i thought that's a bit kinky miss isnt it ? But she smacked my legs so hard they were still smarting at the end of the school day , i deserve it , sorry mrs Appleby ! -
Many thanks Cliff a couple of picture of me and one of my sister Helen sheridan, also i found one of my brother Kevin's school photos , learned alot on here ,so pleased to go down memory lane !

Thanks for the info T E , yes it was Malcolm mee , i remember him chasing round the pool table in the horse and jockey pub because i told a joke he didnt get ! Yes i remember Rob drinking in the oxford pub , i think that must of been his local , saddened to hear he passed away , hope Chris is still alive he was my school mate , used to call me ya little jockey , as i was mad on horseracing. Yes Margie it was the year the seatbelt law came out , because we were stopped on our first morning to the racing stables , the driver couldnt find his drivers licence so questioned us more . I explained we work for mr Brookshaw at asforby , he got on his radio and stood in front of the car , with the windows down i clearly heard the constable mispronounce brookshaw , he said brookbond , so i roared with laughter and made monkey signs touching my arm pits , he red faced shouted at me , you think its funny lad ? As i tried to explain teabags typhoo and monkeys to him , i just said ri

Ah the river trent , used to go fishing with a little net on a cane for sticklebacks , carried them all the way back to leicester street in st anns in a little ice cream tub , time we got home hardly any water left in the icecream tub !

Funny story margie, i went for an interview for a job at a racing stables there , and i was abit early so i killed my time admire some cows over the gate of this field , then down the road came a land rover and a rude man said that there cows in the fields private property , i said i am on a public pavement , get out you land rover i will bust your nose , he stormed off, so i meandered down to the stable block knocked on the door , and who should open the door but the rude man, he said You !! I said you !! I still got the job anyway !

Does anyone remember the 360 social club on highbury vale just as your coming out of bulwell ? I wasn't a member but my mate Chris Radford used to get me in, there was a pub opposite three horse shoes , which led down to bulwell bogs or the river leen as the posh pronounce it , i worked in a stocking factory for about two week on Greasley street and sat on the steps of the bulwell bogs to eat my snap ! I fancied a girl in bulwell woolworths and was to shy to buy a record there 45s in them days so i got my brother to buy it, David essex we're gonna make you a star was the record !

Hello i am a newbie too, and slowly getting to know my way around this wonderful site. I was born in Marple street , carrington i think , near cramner street ? My other three siblings were born in army barracks as my dear old Dad a Devonshire regiment corporal, but when he came out of the army we settled in nottingham , my dads mum lived on Linton rise, or cardale road Sneinton ? My mums mum lived in Marple street hence my birth , we had a spell living in denewood crescent bilborough , then st anns well area Leicester street , rushworth avenue , they were my best childhood mem

I remember that series monkey , i saw Davy jones from the band the monkees when i worked in the horseracing stables for G toby balding , he had come to ride one of our horses in a charity race ! What was the other chinese series with david carradine , they'd call him grasshopper and he'd hold a red hot pot with his wrist ?

I lived on leicester street in the 60,s , does any one remember a mr martin grocery shop ? i remember getting a couple of loose cigarettes he'd put in a bag , they were for me dad of course , he wore glasses , and reminded me of mr potter , in the fenn street gang films with derek guyler and john alderton

No Jill i don't recall a Jane smith , but there was a girl call jennifer giles , she used to come upto bulwell hall park to watch the lads play footie, i used to show off abit as she would bring her younger sister as well Melanie giles i had a big crush on her , some of the lads i played footie with were , nobby clarke, timmo timson, Paul farrow, any of them names ring a bell ? All live grindon crescent area .
