  1. I remember seeing the bike but I didn't take any pictures of it; have you tried searching the Bonham's site for it?
  2. I took a few pictures at the 2008 Brough Rally, not sure if I've posted them here before - http://flic.kr/s/aHsiYqNAXP
  3. Guy, might be worth visiting Friends Reunited - Ralph Skinner is listed on there so might be able to contact him via the message links on there. http://www.friendsreunited.co.uk
  4. He played at a friends birthday party last year, he's a nice bloke but is still very political.
  5. I just wondered if anybody went to or can remember these? The '69 was held at Meadow Lane but I think others were held at Colwick Park.
  6. Winchester Street about 6pm,
  7. Hi Ian, thanks, I'll check it out - probably down to a Flickr blip.
  8. A couple of pictures of what is sometimes known as the Paupers garveyard, not sure if I've posted these before. The last time I visited it was also locked - perhaps, special arrangements need to be made to view.
  9. It's good to see Nottingham being portrayed so positively, http://creativeboom.co.uk/features/creative-cities-nottingham/
  10. I only managed to see the Women's Elite Race but the Square was packed, the sun was out and the skies were blue - what more could you ask for!
  11. Riders on the Storm has been a favourite of mine for years. RIP Ray.
  12. It's one of my pictures, I took it a few years ago; I've also recently started a long term project to photograph Nottingham's remaining factories.
  13. Should be going viral about now - it's stunning! A revised version of David Bowie's Space Oddity, recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station.
  14. There is an internet version of RNI still running and feturing some of the old dj's at - http://www.rni.vze.com/ The site is fairly naff but the programmes are fine, just scroll down for the links.
  15. My mum worked as an overlocker at Meridian and we lived opposite the playing fields at 333 for years - not sure but I think my mum worked in R2. One perk I did get because of this was free use of the company swimming pool, used to go in there nearly every day after school; there were some good cricket matches on there too - the Notts 2nd XI used to play on there occassionally. I also believe they made the Forest kit for the 1959 cup final.
  16. Not sure but probably around 1972.
  17. I was at the Palais gig, it was packed but I was fortunate enough to have been near the front; it was a good one and was one of those shows you talked about for ages afterwards. It was pretty loud too, I remember having problems answering the phone at work on the following day.
  18. The passing of a Nottingham legend, RIP Alvin. He'll always be remembered for that performance at Woodstock, I remember being blown away when I first saw it on the big screen.
  19. I wouldn't read too much into what the Daily Mail (and an ex wife) has to say.....
  20. And he played at Nashville the other week, how cool is that!
  21. It's good to see that there are plans to bring the building back in use.
  22. There's a new one out, The Stars (Are out Tonight)
  23. It's sad to see the demise of HMV but it's been on the cards for some time - to be honest, I've not been a regular visitor to their shops, I think they're cds are overpriced (and have been for years) and they sell a lot of tosh that isn't music related. The music racks are now confined to one corner of the shop at Victoria Centre. I have, however, bought a lot of cd's online; they sell a lot of back catalogue items for a fiver and that's been very beneficial in updating some of my vinyl collection. I just hope Fopp survives - the best record shop since Selectadisc.
  24. I think my five would be, Bread and Bitter Keans Head Cross Keys The Grosvenor (early 70's) Mortimers (70's)
