Have I got the right street - sort of narrow and coming out onto the street with the council house? I think it always was................
-
I thought that was parma violet. !laughing!

I think that in the 70s there were some little 'hippy' shops here - I remember that one was called paraphernalia. On the other hand, my memory is so faulty that this could just be my imagination at work. Does anyone else remember anything?
-
I think it was - but that's such a long time ago now!

Probably '74 when I last went to the fair! It was dead expensive - but loads of fun and psosibly the busiest place I'd ever been at the time!

I'm chuffed - It's a bonus track on my 'Elgins meet the Monitors' CD. I just played it and you're right - pure motown - so is 'Share a little Love with me' also on the CD - jusy playing it now! It's a lonely Nottstalgia without Pete's Vespa - Come back mate! -
I think he had a surly face - but he was a nice enough guy if you knew him! I had my first ever licqeur coffee at the Grosvenor - I'd never heard of them before that. Had a bit of a thing for 'em for a while after that!

A friend sent me this and I liked it so much, I htought one or two folks on here might like it too! These were the fun days; I'm glad I was born then ... CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940's, 50's, 60's and 70's ! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us and lived in houses made of asbestos. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, raw egg products, loads of bacon and processed meat, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes or cervical

Well my friend has just reminded me that the manager in the days when we used to go to the Grosvenor was Colin Brumpton - any of you remember him?

I think you're confusing me with someone who actually gives a s**t. The topic isn't all about you. Get over yourself. !inthebin! -

So let me get this right. We have a topic called 'motown your favourite song' and people who love motown (as Craig said) don't just have one favourite - they have dozens and it changes as they hear something again. So these folks share their love of Motwon by sharing song titles with each other - like going to a go-go - because it's fun. It's not doing any one any harm So what exactly is the problem here? If'n you don't like it in the Pizza hut - there's always a great Indian just down the road right? Leave the boys with their toys and everyone's happy. !! -

I noticed that too - I thought at the time it would - you know with Stax fans, Atlantic fans or whatever. But seems Motown is the one that does the trick! As it should be! -

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh. Having a little strop are we? -
That's exactly what we were saying up at the Cheshire Tavern last night - spooky or what? We came to the conclusion that a woman will reach a decision quickly, because of her larger frontal lobe, but that the decision will be based on her emotional state because of the size of her limbic cortex. As a result, if some pending disaster is being discussed in the boradroom, then a woman will immediately realise that the colour of the room needs to be changed. A man on the other hand will resist this obvious action, look at the situation objectively and tackle the problem itself.

Is the Strathdon still going? I only remember chicken in the basket (plastic with a serviette at the bottom and a 6oz sirloin steak with chips and button mushrooms (tinned) - top of the menu! That was at the Berni on Mansfield road - with the statue of the horse? Hart?
-
I saw Chairman of the Board there - and they had a fantastic barmaid called Anne - wherever she is God bless her!

So - is it agreed? September thirteenth?

Billy's Bag - Billy Preston!
