  3. I was wondering, given the number of forums that are based on Locality or on Schools, why there isn't a whole section with forums on the major employers of Nottingham - eg Meridian (where I worked) Boots, Players, Raleigh, Ericssons/Plessey etc? I know there are pockets of posts relating to these on some of the forums but I don't think there's a dedicated section. Or have I missed it?

  15. Hi Hippo Girl and Oldace, It certainly was the same Jim Howarth. He previously lived in Attenborogh and went to Bramcote Tech GS. His father was Professor of Psychology at Nottingham Uni. I haven't seen him for decades although I heard once that he had moved to Paris. Would I know your brother Hippo Girl? Sorry for the delayed response (!)
  16. Hi Gang - been busy working - many thanks for the welcome Sorry hippogirl - I don't remember a Stuart Ballard. I knew Lindsey and Andy who lived in the house barclaycon mentioned.
  17. Great topic barclaycon, and great map and photos littlebro! I too used to deliver newspapers to the farm, but before the pub was there. This would probably have been 1967-69(?). There was a border collie at the farm (Molly?) which would pretend to nip your ankles! I was delivering for Bramcote Hills newsagents, then run by the Cooper family. I expect you were too? I also used to use the Moor Farm cut and Deddington Lane bridleway to cycle to Bramcote Lane and Wollaton.
