Hi Ian. After starting out in Toronto. 1970, four years later we moved to Calgary, Alberta. Houses were more affordable there. Spent 15 years there. 1990 moved up to near Edmonton. )ived there until first wife died in 99. Lived alone for two years until the current Mrs L from Georgia showed up. Long story short we married and I moved to Georgia, Been here 20 odd years now.

Thanks y'all You're making me feel better already. One of the nurses asked me if I'd learned to say 'y'all' yet. I didn't try to teach her 'ayagorraweyah' Thought it might be a bit much. I think one of the first questions each one asked was, "Where you from."?

Got back from an overnight in the hospital yesterday pm. Friday a.m I was having breakfast when Mrs. L said, "I've called the ambulance." My response was WHY? She said you were unresponsive and you threw up. I had no memory of such a thing. Seems I was unconscious for several minutes. spent some time in emergency and a test showed I was CV positive and severely dehydrated so they kept me overnight for observation. Mrs. L tested positive with home test kit. I had a sore throat the previous day or two. Now cleared up but left with a cough. Barking with the dogs. Feel weak now, I think

Same here and I was based there at the EMEB in the 60s. Used to get the bus right outside on Hanley street. Could not see any trace of it on CT's google earth pics.

Here is a modern composer I really enjoy Gustav Mahler. Above is the 3rd movement from his fifth symphony. After the first Mrs. L died almost 25 years ago I came across this and it brought me a lot of peace and good memories as well as tears. Srill does even as I listen just now I often joke there was nothing worth listening to after Bach. This proves me wrong. Hope you like it.

Re. my ear)ier comments I was confusing him with Stockhausen mentioned by Jill. Some Shostakovitch is not bad. A)ways liked some Elgar since schooldays. Favorite modern composer would probably be Richard Strauss. Check out 'Ein Heldenleben.' Trans' A Heroes Life.' Love it but some may not. Needs to be played loud. Also, 'Thus Spake Zarathustra.' opening bars made famous in Kubricks '2001 A Space Odysey.'

First computer 1974 we were visiting from Canada. An old workmate of mine had this machine. Not sure of the make. It used a little b/w tv as a monitor and saved to a cassette deck. He was writing programs on it. The late mrs. L and I couldn't see much point in it. Little did we know about how such things would go.

You could both be right. As an old electrician the term 'overload' immediately triggered an image of powerlines to me. So I always thought of a guy driving around desert roads looking at powerlines.

Owners of such facilities should be subjected to the same treatments as as the defenceless animals they make their dirty money on. Maybe they would learn something. I would like to provide a home to some of these poor dogs but we are getting a bit long in the tooth. Bit of a struggle to take care of our two somedays.
