Late wife went to NGHS. I think she got a decent education, but she never spoke too highly of it.

Whiter Shade of Pale is obviously derived from Bach and you don't have to listen hard at all.
Question then becomes, which piece? I lean towards Bach's Arioso. Not sure of the BWV number. or Air on a G string.

Always liked it too. Most likely inspired by J.S Bach.

Many moons ago (early 60s) when I was a young apprentice electrician the co. I worked for repaired small appliances as well as wiring schools etc. Kettles, irons, hair dryers, electric fires etc. Parts were plentiful and just a few shillings each. A couple of us would stay in the shop for about an hour each morning before we hit the road to fix 'em. Often not much wrong, burned out element or broken power cord + a few bob for parts. Whole job usually less than a couple of quid and often much less if just a broken wire. The shop was honest and the customer would only be charged a bob or two for the minor stuff. Many appliances kept out of the trash this way. Couldn't do that today labor cost more than a new appliance. Parts almost impossible to get.
Who knows? The way the economy is going those days might have to come back. Should make the greens and grim Greta happy.

No not me Ian. Retired electrician named David before me ears grew long.

Poor Jake. He's scared of storms, isn't he? My cats don't like them, either, but at least they have litter trays! Try and catch up on your sleep with an early night.
Dozed in my recliner after around 3.30. a.m. Bad idea! Woke up with a stiff neck and a bad case of the drools. I'm gerrin' owd! Jake sleeping happily at my feet. He's back there again now, 3.00 p.m. It's a dog's life. I'm ready to doze again but not in this chair anymore. Sky looks like more on the way.

Lousy thunderstorm at 2 a.m Christmas night woke us all up. Climate change??? We were not amused. It is not fun taking a Beagle out for a pee at 2.30 a.m. in a thunderstorm. My gripe for the day. Lol.
Happy new year!

Merry Christmas ya'll. Hope your day's going well.

Don't forget something nice for those beautiful boys of yours, Loppy, for being (reasonably) good all year.
The boys always do especially well at holiday times. They share whatever that rotten Jake the Beagle can steal.

The Bible does not give us an actual date when Christ was born, neither does it tell us how to celebrate it. Those parts are human additions. The older I get the less I am interested in getting or receiving presents. I am thankful for the good things I already have.
Hope ya'll have a happy Christmas.

Yes, let’s get it over and done with and quickly get back to normal. Christmas is a lot of nonsense!
Look out for the ghosts of Christmas past.

Goes with the musical topic.
Beans, Beans, musical fruit
the more you eat
the more you toot
the more you toot, the better you feel
so lets have beans with every meal.

Heat pumps are popular here in Ga. Probably more for their air conditioning value than heating. We have one and have been very satisfied with it. Most use forced air to circulate heat or cool air. I have never seen one heat radiators. Noise levels are low from the compressor which is outside. There are backup heating elements for if it gets too cold outside. (very rare here) They don't kick in often. We have no gas in the house. Power bills are reasonable. Higher in summer when A/C runs more. Great for our climate.

Another belated from me Loppy. Keep on keeping on!
This ageing thing is an interesting phenomi...phenonimi.. err thing...
I mean..I'm only 74 and 3/4....but I do find that people generally treat me differently now..a bit more considerate etc.
I find the crutches..and an expression of dignified but mildly hopeless resilience in the face of pain and infirmity, draw sympathetic admiration.
Even more remarkable considering I only look about 35...
Agreed DJ.
Never been referred to as the Late Loppy before. Bit scary for an old dog.

Thanks Jill. I got plenty of treats, but two dogs pinched 'em.
79, can't believe it. Gonna need more Bob Martins powders. As they say in the Sahth ere. "Ya as owd as dirt."

Hi Nonna. I've found stress is a big issue in BP. If I allow myself to get mad or frustrated at something mine goes way up and can take days to simmer down again.
-
I think some issues with BP may be a Europe vs North America thing. Normal here is considered to be 120/80. I read somewhere 140/90 is considered the norm in Europe. I think here that is considered stage 1 hypertension and can get you on meds. I just consider it a scam to sell more meds along with many nasty side effects.
Mrs L tells me once upon a time 100 + your age used to be considered normal. eg 170 over whatever. Show up at the docs office with tnose numbers now and they'd probably call an ambulance. I get white coat hypertension these days. Thankfully my doc acceps that and does not make it an issue. I am on meds since my stroke and usually run around 140 to 150 over 85 to 90. I don't worry about that. I use an Omron each day and give the doc the average when I have a checkup.

Hope you're soon on yer feet.

I'm grasping at straws at this point.
