i remember the penthouse bar, it was great..it is now a crowne plaza..before that it was the moat house( a right dump ) don't know if the bar is still there!

do any of you guys remember alex from the hippo, sandpipers etc..going back to the 70's now

charlie, alex lived at waterloo promenade off forest road near to gregory boulevard. the house is still there ........the club near the pagoda was la chique i think....yes i remember the curry house and starline taxis..the name paul atwal comes to mind, he used to frequent the hippo too! the berni at the end of the boulevard was the grosvenor ...used to meet up with the magdala girls in there

pat was the window dresser.....i am still in touch with suzanne who lived with them at magdala road ( think it was 31) for a while in 72.... i remember Andrea going to hemel hempsted, the whole town was talking about it! Fuzzy was a nottingham mod from basford( don't know his real name) his mum took the cash on the door of the penny....a friend of mine had a daughter by him and she used to collect the maintainance from his mum at the club..............!!! .....did you know Gwen from the adlib...you daren't mess with her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes they did call the club after the son..one of them was married to Lizzie robinson, a former miss england...had a clothes shop on mansfield road called babels and a house at toton called the tower of babel...back in the day they worked the 99 club at trent bridge

well i spent xmas night 1971( yes it was open ) with alex in the penny farthing...fuzzy's mum was the door lady ...we then went to a party with pat ( worked at the hippo but not as in keith and pat) in magdela road...one of her flatmates was going out with one of the guys in hot chocolate and the place was heaving with music talent....the party went on until new years eve which was spent at the hippo! where you there charlie?

use to go to mojo alot, didn't rate pete stringfellow much( use to give me a lift home) many years later went to Stringfellows in London and chatted to him about nottingham , the mojo and millionaires club in Manchester..all good memories..where has the time gone..still enjoy the Nottingham music scene..wish i was 21 again..would still make the same mistakes!
