  1. Couple of years ago I was in Norfolk near Hunstanton and a Muntjac ran across the road right in front of the car and away into the fields. It had a strange bouncing run. I had no idea what it was so asked locals and they told me what it was and that they are quite common. Late last year I’m pretty sure one was in Epperstone. Some distance away but 95% it was one.
  2. Odd this should be mentioned as I was talking to my granddaughter about this only this morning. A few years after we moved here Phil, we had a Peacock visit our garden quite often. This lasted a few weeks then we never saw it again.
  3. Saw Gerry at a very small venue in Nottingham many years ago. Beautiful voice.
  4. Is this in relation to his software company ‘How To Corp’ or something else.
  5. Jill has asked me to add this photograph showing a Berridge production.
  6. Really. Wetting myself! Pathetic. I perhaps don’t mention Tory scandal as you do that very well without my input and let’s face it, they’re a pretty easy target . I just try to point out that you hatred for anything with a hint of blue is always vilified and not always correctly. Angela Raynor, non story or not was widely reported and as I said, had it been a Tory involved you would have, without doubt mentioned it. I don’t think I misreport what you post. It’s just left, left, left and left with a bit more left. I see little centre and rarely if ever a critisism of the left.
  7. So although you don’t read the newspapers you’re able to say they are heavily bias and concentrate on articles of looney left, wokism etc with the Daily Mail especially being experts in such matters. But the broadcast media, bbc, itv and Sky where you ‘hear about stuff’ and gather your information from, as does the vast majority of the population incidentally, provide a more left wing or balanced approach. There wasn’t a word from you about Angela Raynor’s alleged wrong doing despite it being heavily reported across the networks and press. Perhaps you see what you choose to rather t
  8. So where do you hear about all these Tory scandals if they control the press and presumably hush them up.
  9. Sorry Col. It goes without saying I meant to say much of the pressure comes from the evil Tory controlled press. Put it down to a senior moment.
  10. Obviously the government will exploit this for all they can but I think much of the pressure she faces and demands to publish the tax advice she received comes from the press.
  11. If Angela Raynor were a Tory I’m sure we would have heard from Col by now about disgraceful tory corruption. She is being investigated in relation to the sale of one of her homes, a former council house which she purchased under the Tory right to buy policy. She said she was living there although her husband and children were registered living at a separate property and thereby avoided paying certain taxes. Seems she’s on the ropes. Her almost tearful performance at a recent press conference was not convincing nor is her refusal to publish the tax advice she received.
  12. Like Oztalgian I too am an atheist. Personally I would not use the term ‘confirmed atheist’ just I’m an atheist. I lack the belief in any god or gods but I don’t claim that no gods exists I just don’t believe they do.
  13. I believe Larry left the uk following the Stage Door stint and ran a bar in Spain for some years although he had returned to live here a few years ago.
  14. I was saddened to learn today that Larry (Laurence) Llyod has passed away today age only 74. I knew Larry reasonably well in the mid 80’s to the 90’s. Very pleasant generous fellow and a great footballer. Excellent company to be with and a pivotal member of Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest team during their glory days. Rest in Peace Larrry.
  15. My brother in law has a fancy bmw. Not very old and it has developed a bad oil leak. Apparently it is an oil feed pipe failed and the engine has to come out to fix the pipe. Unbelievably poor design. As to your Audi Lizzie, has the car not diagnosed itself. Sounds like daylight robbery to me.
  16. Lots of info on line as to the triple lock. This is from The Times money mentor. QUOTE The full basic state pension rises each year in line with the highest of three factors: earning growth figures between May to July the previous year, CPI inflation from the previous September, or 2.5%. This system is known as the triple lock. Due to soaring inflation, the state pension increased more than 10% this April, costing the Treasury £124bn. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has promised that the commitment will stay, despite wages growing by 8.5% in July. The rise in state pensio
  17. Posting for Jill who will add some comments. Harry Cook is the teacher.
  18. Perhaps I should have said my future wife. We married when Jane was 17 and I was 19. Frightening when you realise it was only 6 years after this photograph. It will be our Golden anniversary in a couple of months.
  19. Class photo Jill has asked me to upload for her. These children were born around 1956. I knew many of this group and my wife is pictured on here too.
  20. We spotted him too. Near the railway crossing towards Brinkley Hill.
  21. US military intelligence says otherwise. The US says it has intelligence that Hamas has a command centre under Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City. National Security spokesman John Kirby said the group stored arms there and were prepared for an Israeli attack. This is the first time the US has independently backed claims by close ally Israel that Hamas uses hospitals to hide its bases. Hamas denies this.
  22. I recall that path very well. I used to walk through there on my way home from Noel Street swimming baths. When I was about 13 or so 2 lads about my age attacked me for no reason there hitting me with rubber torches of all things. I fought back and they ran off one way and me the other. Few bumps but no harm. Some years ago I got off the tram near the Valve Shop and tried to find that path again. I got lost in the new estate and came out near Kamakasi Island.
  23. If you stand on these policies/ambitions, I’d vote for you.
  24. The leader of a council that recently announced it had gone effectively bankrupt is to step down in May. David Mellen has been in charge of Nottingham City Council since 2019 but has announced he will not seek re-election as leader. The council issued a section 114 notice in November and the government appointed commissioners to help run the authority in February. Mr Mellen said he had given the council leadership "everything I can". He will continue as a councillor for the Dales ward, which he has represented since 2007.
  25. Sad to see what was acknowledged as one of the finest police forces in the uk has been placed under special measures. The force has been moved to an advanced level of monitoring by watchdog, His Majesties, Inspectorate of Constabulary, and Fire and rescue services. This follows intense criticism of the force following the tragic killings by Valdo Calocane.
