Great to hear from you Carni! Hope to see you at a meet up in the New Year!

Thankyou DJ. Just to let you all know that the reason I can't make a meetup is because I can't walk more than a few steps, due to intolerance to the meds I'm taking. (I'm not playing truant, honestly!) I have an appointment with Oncology in January, all depends on what is planned for me. fingers crossed?

Has it affected your ability to eat cream cakes ?

Funny you should say that! We had to call at the Co-Op on the way home, and guess what we bought? Starts with 'Cream' and ends with 'Doughnuts' Hey, I did say No.................Oh go on then. Just one! slywink

hope you settle down with these tablets. To be honest I’ve never heard of them.

These are the pills. called  Aromatase Inhibitors. I have to take one a day for 5 yrs or life. The first one called Anastrozole, left me almost unable to walk for about a month, the one the docs changed me to is called Exemestane, and things are looking up. I have had 4 whole days of feeling a bit more normal, I can walk and rest a lot better on this new pill. We hooked the bikes onto the back of the car and drove to our large 'West Park' yesterday and rode the perimeter twice, only 2 miles, but I am thrilled. I thought my cycling days were over.  It is easier to peddle than to walk. Anyway. this is where I am now.....feeling happy and optimistic again.x

I am sorry that I am not posting lately, I am just beginning to come out of a rough few months. I keep trying to post but the brain fog takes over I am afraid. Anyway, my bod is finally settling down with the new meds. The anti cancer tablet is the one that has been causing me a lot of pain, the last three days have been a lot more comfortable though. There you are my Notty Peeps, you see I have been keeping my eye on you all, and thankyou for wondering where I am.xx

  5. Before the demolition of 'St Anns' my Grandparents lived on Vicarage St, about three doors up from 'The Mechanics Arms' which was on the corner of 'Alfred St North'. He was a blacksmith. I never knew exactly what he did, but one of the Gents  on another Nottingham site, very kindly gave me an enlarged map off the area, showing my Grandads place of work, on the opposite side of Alfred St North, was Raywarp, where I worked at the time. This was early 1960s. Grandad, apparently was the Blacksmith who shoed and cared for the 'Dairy Horses' at that time. I don't know if the house they lived in on Vicarage St came with the job, or Council as they were originally from Mansfield.

  6. Quiet feasible to pick Covid up in hospital. During my last ten days in hospital  in May, I felt even more unwell one day, I didn't get a test in time as the Doctors came round and decided I was well enough to go home, not aware of the Covid risk. The person in charge decided it would be better if I tested at home and phone the ward with my result. I did the test, was positive, phoned the ward and they then closed the ward down?
