Thanks Rog,had a look but still not the one !.Looked at Prestwold Hall nearby as well but no.This is getting daft,Woodcote Park can't be far from Notts but it must be well hidden !.

Yes,the birds eye view is very good,its helped me rule out several locations that looked like they could be 'Woodcote Park' from the map but with the birds eye view you can see they are totally different houses.

Had a look,very similar,with the trees,driveway and parkland but on the photo the house is three storeys high and 'Woodcote' is only two.Thanks to everyone for their help and continuing interest. I have started looking on Google earth at Derbys.,Lincs.,East Staffs and further down into Leics but no luck yet.Wife and daughter think I am getting dafter each week !!!.

I 've seen the website you mentioned,it's very comprehensive with the locations but vague about 'Woodcote Park'.I emailed Martin Underwood to see if he had any clues to the location but I never got a reply. In the 1989 series of Boon the furthest away location from Lenton Lane seems to be Mountsorrel quarry near Loughborough,about 15 or 20 miles and only in one episode.I reckon it wouldn't make sense for Woodcote Park to be further away than that,especially when it was the main location.It would be daft to move production from Birmingham to Nottingham and then go miles and miles away to film,

Found the tower !.It's Sibthorpe Dovecote between Bingham and Newark.Still can't find flaming Woodcote Park though !!!.

Yes ,I noticed that as well.They seem to have been quite crafty with filming different entrances to Woodcote Park.The one you mention reminds me of a place somewhere just to the north of Nottingham but I can't think where,Calverton or somewhere like that.They used one of the entrances to Thrumpton Hall quite a lot but not the hall itself. I've noticed the house seems to have a large indoor swimming pool and a tennis court.There might be a church in the trees just to the side of it.

Was it the green Rover 200 ?,they certainly thrashed that about a bit !.

A good suggestion,it fits the description of the location.I had a look at a photo but it is not the one !.Apparently at the time Central TV didn't state the filming location for some reason,probably to keep idiots like me from finding it !.I'm not giving up yet though.There seemed to be a lot of extras in the scenes filmed there so someone must know where it is.

It looks like a lot of the scenes showing the extensive grounds to the hotel and a driveway with stone gate pillars leading onto a village street were filmed at Thrumpton Hall and in Thrumpton village. Unfortunately,Thrumpton Hall was not used as the hotel location so I am still none the wiser !. The house used might not have had such extensive land of its own after all. Ruddington Hall was one of the first places I thought of,it made sense ,close to Nottingham but still fairly rural,but alas its not the one !.My wife spent time there when she was a baby in the sixties,I think it was something to do with University Hospital then.I've checked photos of Bunny Hall,Stanford Hall,Clifton Hall and Rempstone Hall but its none of them either !.This really is bugging me now !,usually it doesn't take much to find a location but this one is a real mystery.I don't whether it is worth contacting Central TV to see if they know anything,but I suppose they might think it is

I think the house they were doing up was Beesthorpe Hall ,just off the A616 near Caunton north of Newark.Some filming was done in Knipton and Denton ,near Grantham and in Bingham market place.

I've got blue legs but my beak isn't turned up though !. I wondered if the house is somewhere in south Notts as well.They did some filming at Mountsorrel quarry near Loughborough so it would makes sense,I couldn't see them going long distances from Nottingham to film at locations.Thanks for the ideas,I'll have a look.I can't believe it is so difficult to find the location of the house !.

Good suggestion,but its not Colwick Hall.I've looked at Strelley Hall,Flintham Hall,Car Colston Hall,Tollerton Hall,Thrumpton Hall,Hopwell Hall,Trowell Hall,Norwood Park Southwell and many others but none are anything like the one on Boon.I've studied Ordnance Survey maps and used photos on Google Earth aswell as my local knowledge but to no avail !. The house used was not as grand as Colwick Hall.They did do some filming in Sneinton and Colwick and around Holme Pierrepont Hall and Blotts club.Thanks for all of your suggestions so far,keep them coming !.
