Searching for place of birth ( somewhere in Nottingham ) of William Booth the son of Thomas Booth. He was born 2/8/1825. He married Sarah White of Eagle in Lincolnshire and they are both buried in Grimsby cemetery. Thanks in anticipation ! Janet

I tried to find some mention on this site of the S S Nottingham and was successful but then I lost it again ! Anyway if I haven't sent this message before here goes. My grandfather was one of the captains of the S S Nottingham which sailed out of Grimsby for Hamburg or Rotterdam on a weekly basis. It was one of the L.N.E.R. steamers. My grandfather was the master of the SS Nottingham which sailed out of Grimsby to Rotterdam and Hamburg. I have a photo of him on board the Nottingham. He was also master of the SS Bury and other LNER steamers out of Grimsby. He brought many of the refugees ( mainly Jews ) over to Grimsby on their way to America via Liverpool on his return journeys.
