  2. I didn't know that! .. it was his hat that attracted me to him initially!
  3. ah, good old yma! .. It is no exaggeration to say that Yma Sumac possessed the most extraordinary voice of our times. If it were but a vocal instrument it would be exciting, but this beautiful Ican princess played her fabulous four-octave range with a variety of emotions, attitudes and tonal color that resulted in a unique and spellbinding experience.. and who can forget Ivan Rebroff that Germanic singer of Russian descent .. one of my all time favourites and true exponent of vocal splendour... he sang the unforgattable Volga song, Kosakev-Patroville and that all time eastern block favourite
  4. Simple! .. the children come from Ilkeston, where the the old die hard tradition of burning copper wire is still practiced within the confines of the domestic environment. each child is given a fifty foot length of neatly cut copper cable (obtained from various sources), it is then their responsibility to strip and clean the same and dispose of the casing within the fire.. on a good week, up to fifty chimneys can be seen belching out the acrid smoke, and thus visitors are advised to wear a smogmask for the duration of their stay!
  5. I'll have a stab Caz, but you must bear in mind mummy wouldn't let me listen to pop music until the likes of Crispy Ambulance, Stiff Little Fingers, and Generation X came along, so my guess may be wrong... however ... here goes! are they 'The Swinging Blue pants' ? .. if not, then could you kindly supply us with a clue thank you!
  6. is it Bearzee Bearskin the famous fifties crooner who sang 'whale meat again' ? if it's not, then I've no idea who it is!
  7. That's not Billy Bunter, he had a much fairer complexion! .. and I can't remember him being a singer either.. are you absolutely sure you haven't got him mixed up with Bertie Bassett, the liquorice coloured superstar?
  8. Levi Stubbs from the Four Tops.
  9. I'm beginning to think this is some kind of hoax!. I mean, we've searched our brainlobes for every brown skinned gentleman that we've ever known and seen, and drew a blank! now, can you absolutely and catagorically state that the photo is genuine, and hasn't been tampered with in any shape or form, and more importantly, would you be prepared to testify to this under oath? .. if not, I feel we are all wasting our time! ..
  10. any clue as to the game?? is it maybe Diddley Winks?? .. ..
  11. Now come on Mick that's unfair! .. they have given you those green baggies to compensate! .. you know how they're strapped for cash, you ought to be more sypathetic! the poor souls clutch at straws to make ends meet, even to the extent of sending out letters of distress claiming you haven't paid your community charge and you must appear in court on a certain day to answer the charge.. (plus expenses) EVEN though you have paid it is of no consequence, the fact is you paid it a fortnite late therefore you will answer the charge, and the whole of the years outstanding amount is now demanded
  12. Inspired by recent postings on this forum and the amount of interest shown, I am prompted to introduce a new thread entitled: RUBBISH - it's impact on todays society and how it affects the way we live.. basically I raise the question, can we reach true enlightenment through total acceptance of it's sub culture, and ask, will future generations turn to it as a means of inspiration? it is envisaged a large volume of members will be wanting to post comments on this subject, thus should you feel the need to reply there may be a slight lag before your composition reaches the server, so ple
  13. A young Fats Domino before the addiction to Chicken & mushroom pies? .. .. or maybe OTIS REDDING? .. ..
  14. Ideal for the up and coming jet set traveller man, an ideal place where to store all his soffitt and fascia data, plus the amount of burned out cars achieved within the month, also handy for keeping a list of towns to avoid whilst the tarmac sets on last wave of dodgy driveway toppings.. this little gem is just what the community has been waiting for ..
  15. ELLO ELLO ELLO bip! .. Nice to see you back!
  16. DO YOU MEAN WE SHOULD START A SEPERATE THREAD ENTITLED 'RUBBISH'?
  17. Re the green bags: the question is; where exactly is one supposed to keep them as the festering content builds up during the week? .. do we keep them outside, open to the elements with the bags filling with water, the contents often blow astrew by the high winds? or do we keep them indoors, so the cat may rummage at leisure? either way, I don't subscribe to the scheme, rubbish is rubbish, and if they want to recycle then by all means they can sift through the contents of the black bin once it is off my property.. but I thank the council all the same for the carriers, as they make sturdy sh
  18. After squinting at the photo, and looking at it from different angles, I was at my wits end as to who the mystery celebrity could be.. I then hit on the idea of turning the monitor upside down and reading the question again, and thus it immediately became clear it was indeed Mr. Presley.. but identity of the other chap still remains unknown.
