There's an option on the desktop version to create an embed code rather than a link which I emailed to my tablet. It's a work around but means I can't do it all while I'm drinking my coffee in Costa.
-
I'm wondering if it would work on the desktop version of One Drive as I'm using the android tablet version. I'll give it a go.
-
Yes I realise that is how it's done hence all the pictures I've already posted. However they've all come from photobucket which, as you say, generates an URL which works on this site.
My problem is with images on One Drive. I do the same thing and I get the URL as in my original post. I can paste it into a post for people to click on but it won't display if I paste it into the other media box.

Any one drive experts on here?
I can insert pictures from my Photobucket account using an URL but when I go to share in my microsoft onedrive I get this:

Tried pasting this into the other media box but it doesn't like it.

My company printed many books for the Nottingham Civic Society so I had lots of dealings with Ken - top bloke!

Thanks Jill, that's £11 saved LOL. Thought the wrought ironwork might give it away.

This was the wedding of my Great Aunt, Ada Adkin to Henry Reynolds in 1954. It has been suggested that this was outside the Shakespeare Street Register Office.
Can anyone confirm this location or point me in the right direction to see relevant pictures?

Well the media did pick up the story...

Sorry if this has already been posted but as at 13/01/22 1,800 have signed but 2,500 (at least) are really needed to get the media interested.

With reference to the multi-journey tickets which were inserted into a machine that cut off a piece each time:
I can remember these in the 1970s and have a vague memory of kids at my school trying to make their own but don't know if any were successful LOL

They're all stood facing Arnold Road, on the end of Heathfield road. Have you any idea of the year Rye? My missus had an Auntie Lily, who lived at the other end at no.1.
Well if the age range was 8 to 11 for the Life Boys then, as my dad was born in 1929, the latest it could be would be 1940.

I posted this on the Nottingham from the owd days Facebook group as I was looking for more information.
Found out that the building in the background was the old Heathfield Pub / Hotel on Arnold Road, Basford.
My dad, Derek Chawner, is front centre: I knew he was in the Boys Brigade but apparently this was the junior section then known as the Life Boys for around 8 - 11 year olds.

Well emojis aren't allowed on this site but if they were I'd use the 'blush' one LOL

It's sad to see such a beautful buiilding being demolished.
Pity they couldn't have incorporated the tower like they did at the Victoria Centre.

Thanks all! Mystery solved.

Found the contact sheet of the original negatives and the previous shot was a bandstand presumably on the Arboretum?
-
I know I took pictures of the Arboretum around the same time so you might be on to something.

It was after their wonderful ‘Bolero’ performance in the 1984 World Championships.
Where they definitely in a jeep rather than an open top bus? It looks as if there were two occasions they did this. I presume one would would have been when they were awarded Freedom of the City.

The 32nd Nottingham Boys Brigade today seem to be based in Nuthall
I've managed to contact someone who was in the 32nd Company in the 1940s and he says it was based at St Aidan's Church, Basford. He started it up again in Nuthall in the 1970s and he kept the number.

I took this photo sometime in the 1980s but can't remember where. Any ideas?

Nottingham Forest Glory Years - late 1970's

Posted my pictures on the Old Nottingham Pictures Facebook group and they've proved very popular with people wishing the glory days would return.
Did any of you turn out to see the open top bus pass by?
