  1. It's in a few papers about them, they haven't used them AFAIK. I suspect they're there if things go mega pear shaped for them...
  2. He's sending in thermobaric rocket launchers, these are just below low yeald tactical nukes on the devastation scale, remember they were known as poor man's nukes when I was in the army. Hope the idiot doesn't use them...
  3. Kim Jon-Un now has a rival for crazy crackpot leader... Kudos & respect to the people in Russia demonstrating against the invasion, even though the cops are arresting them...
  4. Would not surprise me if China goes for Taiwan in the next few weeks/months while NATO is focused on Ukraine. Hope I'm wrong...
  5. I'm thinking Putin has gone mad. Threatening any nation that goes to Ukraine's help with nuclear strikes, defo gone round the bend...
  6. They have discovered the biggest most ginormous galaxy 3 billion light years away, it is about 16.3 million light years in diameter. For reference our Milky Way galaxy is about 106,000 light years in diameter, so it's a little bit bigger init....
  7. Got in my car earlier on: put in drive, released hand brake, pressed accelerator & nothing happened = I had not started the engine.. Hour or so ago: got in bath, soaped myself up, then realised I'd still got my glasses on.. It's happening isn't it? I going round the bend...
  8. Mam dragged me to the Adelphi bingo that used to be in Bulwell, I'd never played bingo before. Lo & behold I won two of the games, some of the regulars glared at me & chuntered for the rest of the night....
  9. Wife & her friend went to the tower ballroom on Saturday & they really enjoyed it, I didn't go as I was feeling very tired & exhausted so went to bed for a couple of hours.... I really enjoyed the weekend of dancing, the effects of my cancer treatment & recent covid meant I got knackered very quickly, but I'd just nip up to my room & have a kip & I was ready for more dancing..... The strong wind made the bathroom door rattle & bang & kept waking us up, so I left the door open. Then the wind was howling in the bathroom vent & kept waking us up, we couldn't wi
  10. Wishing all the best Nonna.... Was talking to a youngish woman in her early 30's yesterday who is needle phobic & got covid, (she insists she's not an anti-vaxer though) she'd had no jabs. She was very ill saying it was like the worst flu ever & in bed for several days, she was worse than old fart me who'd had 3 jabs & was recovering from the after effects of last months radiotherapy & ongoing ADT. , glad I had the jabs.... Got my vaccine passport all sorted for my line dancing extravaganza at Blackpool this weekend...
  11. Alpha... It's Lowdham village hall where we were line dancing last night. We also went to Basford Hall Miners Welfare (Creepers) but that seems to have shut down now so I've heard...
  12. You're almost right Jill: I was out line dancing at Lowdham last night & really enjoyed being out & free, I danced quite a few dances & did lots of yabbering to friends. Was a bit tired at end of the night though & didn't get up till 10 AM today..
  13. Beekay.. We went to B&M Hucknall car park, said online that by law if you test positive on an LFT you have to have a PCR as soon as possible. (this rule no longer apply's but it did on 1'st Jan) The PCR is more accurate than an LFT & picked up my covid even though I tested negative on an LFT, we were just following government regulations at the time..... BTW after 14 days I tested negative on an LFT this morning so I've now left the covid club, voice is still a bit croaky though...
  14. My wife & myself did an LFT on new years day because a friend we'd been with day before tested positive, my wife was positive & me negative, by law we both had to do a PCR test on 2'nd Jan where we were both positive so into isolation we went, neither of us had symptoms on that day. Next day I had bad cold like symptoms that only cleared up a couple of days ago. Wife tested negative on days 7 & 8 & was free on day 9. Today (day 13 for me) the LFT had a very faint T line, so I'm hoping it'll be clear tomorrow & I'll be free...
  15. Still got some mild symptoms: headache, dry cough, fatigue, but I'm feeling better that I did a few days ago. Think I've got to keep testing every till till I do two negatives, not 100% sure though...
  16. Day 11 since I first tested positive & I've still got 2 solid LFT lines. Under govt regs I can now go out & about even though I'm still testing positive, but I don't feel comfortable going to anywhere indoor. Most weekends my wife & myself go to a line dance somewhere local, but I wont be going unless I test negative....
  17. Wife & myself did a LFT each this morning: she was negative & me positive. She is now free of covid jail as she's done 2 negative's over 9 days. I'm still in the slammer till I do 2 negative tests. Still feeling rough with a muzzy headache, bunged up hooter, sneezing & now a dry cough has fired up, but the sore throat has gone, still taking co-codamol & ibuprofen. A friend tested positive every day over the last week & had no symptoms at all, she's now negative...
  18. Agree Catfan it does feel like a very bad cold. I seem to be worse that my wife & friends who have also tested positive, wondering if it's because I had radiotherapy a few weeks ago & am on ADT treatment for my prostate cancer, cancer nurse didn't seem to know. Did a test earlier today & the T line was solid, my wifes T line was very faint so presume she's coming to the end. I'll be glad when I come to the end as fed up of feeling grob & being in covid prison...
  19. I've read both both Majors & Browns memoirs of their PM days & they both said Presidents of countries would point out that they were not the head of state of the UK, the queen was. Wonder if Australian & New Zealand PM's have had the same remarks from Presidents?
  20. I phoned my cancer nurse as I finished radiotherapy 5 weeks ago & she advised me to just take co-codamol & ibuprofen which seems to ease it a bit, she said time will heal it. It feels just like I have a bad cold, my wife seems almost back to normal today.... I'm having some chicken in white sauce & mashed spuds, a bit better than marmalade init? Lol... Thanks Cliff ton, Stavo girl & Margie
  21. John. I used to wind my late mother-in-law & wife's late auntie up by saying "wait till you get queen Camilla" & they'd both go off into a rage saying they don't want her as queen as though they'd get a say in the matter, lol...
  22. Woke up this morning feeling mega grob, feel like I've been hit by a freight train. Wife Sue is OK though. Keep getting text messages to go on track & trace website & fill out a questionaire, but it keeps failing for some reason. My 7 days isolation should be up on Saturday if I do 2 negative LFT's & I feel OK...
  23. Wife & me did a lateral flow test on Saturday: she was positive & me negative. Both went for a PCR test yesterday at B&M car park Hucknall. Both did a LFT this morning: wife was still positive & me still negative. PCR test results came through this evening & we're both positive, I was just about to go to the chip shop when the PCR results came through, we ended up having marmalade on toast for tea. Won't be going anywhere for the next week or so, good job we did a big shop last week. Got a headache & snotty snotter but that's it so far...
  24. Thanks Brew, Margie H, Jill, Beekay, Cliff ton, Carni & Catfan.... Seemed strange not going to RT centre today, miss yabbering to the staff & other patients. Off out to a line dance social at Mapperley plains social club tomorrow night, told radiologist I was going & she told me not to go mad & limit the amount of dances I do, I'll do the slow ones, lol...
  25. Well today I had my last radiotherapy session at Nottingham Radiotherapy Centre, they said "it should make the cancer go into deep remission." I've never heard the phrase "deep Remission" before, presume it means mega remission or sumat like that. Had a few side effects, mainly fatigue, but nothing I couldn't cope with. The staff at the RT centre were brilliant, I can't praise them enough. Thanks for the kind comments...
