  3. i would like to second caries post after a bad start to this year with my health probs this year has ended on a hi for my getting my new bungalow and moving this of course was very stress full but we got there in the end . and eventually getting reconected to all you lot certainly missed you all during this time. i am putting this on now as its going to be a long night \early morning so i think tommorrow i will be having a realy long lazy day tommorow think most of it will be spent in bed fast asleep.   4. hi carnie ment the map at the top of this page the big white bit marked allotments was mainly waste land when i was a kid.the little square bit was the pond with ouse dyke comming out of it
  5. mick4patthe map should bring back lots of memories for you ethel grove and all the houses can be seen.can also see the muck hills and the dyke and the pond they drained all the oil into from the sheds.
  6. when my kids were small and had whooping cough lots of people told me to take them to watch road works as the smell of the tarmachelped to clear the chest of the mucus that remained after about ofwhooping cough. and ii forgot who used to make tar babies and dogs and cats ect
  7. karlton my old friend kat who used to be on the fourum was also born in kirks buildings she lived with her grandma kats name at the time was katina holmes and she was bourn on 19.2.1951 i do not know her gramas second name sadly kat died nearly 3 years ago very suddenlyi know she was looking into the history of kirks buildings at the time
  8. mick that would have been me and my mate leslie denoon not our kathkath had already got her son stephen by then,and it was me that was always into bikes kath never liked them much just before i left schoo lbrian evansuncle of malc evans b lived at no 3 with with his wife and son i think his name was brian. he was a couple of years younger than me same age as my brother johncarnt remember who lived no 4.shuttleworth geoff and sue lived at no 2 remmember going to there house to whatch tv they were the first on the terrace to have telly . sorry its taken me so long toreply but have been so busy

  12. hi mtck yes i remember you sorry for not answering you before but not been on for a few months you were a little bit younger than our kath and a few years older than me,as you have proberly see on here i have many happy memories off nevo and its people.
  13. charlie who sharpend the skates also worked in skate hire and the burger bar burgers made with sausage meat lived in netherfield both he and the guy who worked in skate sales shop used to wear bow ties.

  15. my aunt and cusons lived on hungerhil rd next to the shop top of lotus st and my grandma lived westminster terrace so i spent a lot of time in that area in the 50s and 60s

  21. dont know about douglas but know doug scott taught pe at cottesmore boys school he was there early 60s when dave was in the school rugby team.
  22. several years ago while on holiday with our extended family in stafordshire and realy strugling for money by the end of the week .we went forawalk round a resivor and one of my sons found a wallet containing quite a lot of cash several hundred pounds in fact credit cards ect dave and my son took it to the ranger station to hand it in just as they were doing so the man who had lost came to see if it had been found and handed in when the ranger asked him his name adress ect he was given his wallet back said thanks to dave and walked out and was gone off to his family without a nother thought th
