the other week in a petrol station dave got out the car and picked up a tenner extra fuel in the tank and a nice ride out thank to whoever droped it

also a big mods and rockers do in manfield bank holiday monday ill let you have the proper details later when i find the poster hosted by the mods its a good day if the weather is fine but theres a big club room if not stalls food drinks and great music of the era both for mods and rockers.

dave will be 7years in oct since his diognosis he has been in remission now for six and a half years . he had to have 8 weeks radidation he had no problems with this some people not even dry skin he said he never felt any pain at all while having this treat hope this helps put your mind at ease.

funny that this subject comes up again now while we were at rockers reunion this weekend some of us got to talking about various clubs in nottingham at that time there was quite a long conversation about them some of the girls and a few guys were mods at the time so knew a lot of the mod clubs

sounds like a lovely time you had up in the allotments . i too sometimes went to the allotments with my dad and can remember the shed on the allotment a drop down bench bed a wood /coal stove a shelf for cups /mugs usually enamel mugs and plates . that also broke down against the wall.plates and cups on a higher narrower self after use . i liked to play house in there with some of the local girls nice place to sit and read too specially when the stove was lit when it was cold and damp. i used to pinch a few of dads sweet peas and put them in a jam jar on the wide shelf . they smelt lovely.

i am lucky as a blue badge holder i can park free as i usually use my schooter wh down som of them corridorsile i am on my hostpital visits as can often be very long walks not all the medi buses are sutable to get a schooter on or i would certainly use wilkinson st park and ride to get to the hostpitals . but even as a blue badge holder finding a parking space can sometimes create real problembs last time i went to qmc we had to park in white heart carpark dave had to drop me off go to whiteheart park and then getback to the hospital just as i was being called in we always get there early .

we got married on 3oth becember 1972 no posh frock or brides maids for megot married in a purple dress that i had made for me for christmas and was told it was unlucky to get married in purple at basford regitras office .back to white heart for reception for families and a few friends in the afternoon then whent to live with piggys mum and dad for the first 15 months not posh wedding by any means but nearly 42 years on we still together and we are still very happy and proberly have a better relationship and as much in love as we were when we got married .

until i went to workfor city council on adventure playgrounds you very realy heard me swear and i never heard my mum and dad swear . the kids on the playcentres thought i wash posh because i did not swear after a while i found it easier to swear when kids were playing up most of them responded better when you swore because this was what they were used to. i still very realy swear unless someone upsets me then i can swear with best of themmy dad would have had a dickie fit at me.one of my sons very realy swears but the other one i am always telling off for it so i can understand how my dad

after just rereading this thread i feel prity sure now that nellie was my dads sister talking to my eldest sister pauleen earlier this year she told me that one day while walking past mapperly hospital dad said his sister had died there when she asked him why she was in there dad said she had been a naughty girl and had to go in there but would not say any more but that would certainly fit in with with her getting pregnant very youngand 13 was very young.

me too lizzie just have to spend more time if not but was listning to the radio today they predicting good weather until at least mid august with the odd storm every now and again. but ive got my sunhats for this year ready for hot weather not going to get my head burnt this year like last year factor 50 at the ready

thanks micheal id certainly miss my friends on here too. but some good newsat the hostpital today had the results of the byopsis i had two weeks ago pre cancer sells all clear just keep taking the tablets so good news and not got to go back for a yerbreathed a big sigh of relief and can now enjoy rockers reunion on the 1st to 4th of august in skeggy

know all them micheal so i must know you too if only by sight i went out ith george oglesby when ray first started going out with elain still see them sometimes and they will be comming down rockers reunion next week end in skeggy with fran and jan,so ill have to ask them of some reminders of who you are micheal as i said knew most of the teddy boys by sight if not to speak to
