  1. that was the trouble in them days local copper knew most people in the area so you could not get away with much our local copper whould give you a clip round the ear with his leather gloves and then would go and tell your parents and you would get another.

  3. would frank murden be andys dad i carnt remember his first name as we always called him mr murden although his mum was always joan mr murden died a few years ago now but joan is still alive and had her 90th birthday last year.
  4. dave 48 think that whould be andy murdon lived on cloiter st still see andy and his wife has just had his first child a boy ,andy is now age 67 i think andy sang and played drums in quite a few bands the crew being one of them always a good night with the crew. andy was there lead singer but had problems with his throat and can no loger sings but still plays drums for another 60s band who i carnt think of at the moment. still riding motorbikes nice yellow norton. babs
  5. i had a aunt who died in mapperly hospital we think she was commited for being an un married younng mother we belive that the baby boy john may have died in there toosame question realy anne do i have to get hospital records for her or will the death certificate be available through local registras office.

QUITE POSSIBLE MY AUNT GLADYS POUNALL LIVED ABOUT THE 4TH HOUSE UP HAD SIX DAUGHTERS THE YOUNGEST WAS BOURN WHEN ALL HER ELDER SISTERS WERE IN THERE TEENS AND TWENTIES JANET WAS ABOUT 3 YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME BUT I OFTEN WENT TO STAY AND KEEP HER COMPANY AND PLAY WITH HER SHE WAS NOT ALLOWWED OUT ON THE ST TO PLAY WITH OTHER KIDS .

  9. hi all two years today since kats sudden death and at last might get somewere with a memorial the man from gedling nature reserve contacted me on friday to let me know that the paths ar know in around the site of the old geding pit site and they will be looking at planting extra trees and wild flower medows very soon got a meeting with him in two weeks to discus what to plant were ext so at last looks like will be able to get something done after so many knock backs from various people just to let trevor and katerjay know looks like at last i am getting somewere
  10. i start to pack on the mondy before we go away start with dressing gowns nightwear towels yes i know most boarding houses and hotels provide them but i like to use my own as i always know theres plenty of room in them to cover me up in case of emergencie and i have to leave the room with them on, toletries , underwear. then other clothes go in . leaving room for slipers shoes batery charges ect on the top like most people i always pack much more than i ever use on my long weekend away in sunny skeggy vagas for rockers reunion first weekend in august every year .if you saw the size of my sui

  13. what a shame the ariel is just left to rot like that wonder if it was a stolen bike or just broke down and the owner just could not be bothered with it.
  14. although i lived in carlton, cavendish rd i did not very often drink locally because there was always someone who knew my family. so i always went further afield. dont think i ever went in blacko at all and by 72 i was married and moved away from carlton.
  15. i will ask my brother wemmy if he has got any used to go in there regular when he was not bared that is think he used to play in the darts team too at one time but it might have been nags head he played for george and kenny bates also played for black head but not sure if it was during that time frame.

  21. was in ilkeston on saturday saw one of the old nottinghan city busses that you got on at the front and got of via a door in the middle was only saying to someone the day befor they would be a lot easier to get on and of with a mobility schooter than the new ones not much room to turn round for getting of specialy ifa lot of people on the bus
  22. den i used to stay on broad oak st a lot when i was young my auntie lived at no 3 or 4 my other aunt lived just down the rd on hungerhill rd next door to the bearoff my grama lived on west minster terrace so i spentquite a lot of time in st anns although we lived in netherfield at the time.
  23. thats true nathan i allways say netherfield is llike an island surounded by railways on three sides and the river across the bottom end just the things we did as kids down there when we were young only difference being was we did not have bikes we used old pram wheels or tin trayd on the muck hill my nephew stephen parnham lived lnw terrace think he was about 2 years older than you his sister samantha was a littlel younger than you i think my other sister lived on trafic terrace her youngest daughter kerry wilson was about your age her sisters were dawn and tracey all of them went to ashwell
