I remember that, but it's not one which comes to mind when anyone mentions The Animals.

People of a certain age might remember "Let's Go to San Francisco' by the Flowerpot Men in 1967, who were just a group of session musicians. They recorded a few other songs but none were successful. One was 'In a Moment of Madness'...which was later released by White Plains...although it was the same people. I'd forgotten how good it was.

That figure explains why car insurance is so high these days. Imagine a car involved in a minor shunt and the front end being slightly bent; if one headlight costs £1k how much would the whole front end cost (eg. radiator, bumper, grille, etc).

It's greatly to their credit that they could still perform in such embarrassingly bad conditions. A good demonstration of how pop music was treated in those days. The programme and organisation was in the hands of middle-aged men in suits who had no idea or understanding of what was happening.

Pity it's not closer because I could be in one of those pushchairs.

Looking at old photos of Nottingham, those signs seemed to be on every street corner.....and many of them are still there, although they're now faded and weather-beaten.

The basis of MGB is still there but is now called Bluecoat Wollaton Academy, with entrances on Harrow Road and Sutton Passeys Crescent. It's been modernised a lot, but underneath it all is the original 1950s buildings. https://maps.app.goo.gl/cEVg7skewuA2ASje6

Another possible contender would be Margaret Glenn Bott near Crown Island.

Running through that lot shows an interesting cultural change. In the first few years all the artists look like identikit younger versions of older people....dressing like their parents. It's only when the Rolling Stones appear in 1965 that young people start having their own identity which doesn’t involve copying what went before. (even the Beatles continued to wear suits and ties in those early years).

I'd forgotten about that; haven't heard it for years.
