  1. A shop yesterday in Worksop selling Christmas cards mid August !
  2. After breakfast, we went to the visitor centre at Sherwood Forest, but it was pouring down, so I proceeded to Worksop. God, talk about Royston Vasey ! I foolishly contemplated parking for 4 hours, but settled on 2, as I had the correct change. Thank the Lord for small mercies. The market was on the Main Street, and as the rain had abated slightly we walked down one side, and back the other. Men shaped like Humpty Dumpty, and women with goatee's. Frightening ! Returned to the car, and still had over an hour left. Never again !
  3. Good God, I wish I'd never said owt now !
  4. Come on ! I don't need that......l get things right first time. 99 out of 100, on my last assessment just before my retirement in 2010. I lost one point because I very slightly scuffed the underside tip of my forks on the pallet on top of the pile.
  5. Hah ! Well I've got Reach AND Balance !
  6. Btw, to emulate.....To copy something achieved by someone else, and try to do it as well as they have. I would never suggest for one moment, that by trawling through books, one could achieve what Beekay has. For a start, he's probably had very many years practice to achieve those results. I was trying to give people the chance to give it a go if they so wish.
  7. I've not seen it for years Margie. It possibly got left behind when Mrs FLY 1 and I split up. I'll have to have a rummage in the loft ! It was done on black paper, and was of fairground equipment arriving on Gregory Blvd at The Forest in readiness for Goose Fair.
  8. I had one of my offerings exhibited nationally whilst I was at FFGS. Still got a certificate.
  9. Well unless you try, you'll never know.
  10. No, I was just saying what is available if anyone wants to try !
  11. I was only offering the opportunity for people to try Margie. Who knows what is achievable until they try. Just saying !!!
  12. As I've said before, Smith should have been banned for life, along with EVERY sports cheat !
  13. Yes, nothing like the real thing ! I've had a Kindle for years, and used it once !
  14. If anyone wants to emulate B's results, there's many books on Canal Folk Art, Barge Ware, Narrow Boat Art. Call it what you will ! Whilst walking to Sawley Marina several years ago, I noticed many books in the little gift shop there.
  15. Come on RR ! Where's the HP sauce ?
  16. We always referred to the stretch of line between Radford and Trowell as 'The Branch', but yes, it was one of the main lines between St Pancras and Edinburgh / Glasgow, via the Settle & Carlisle line. The other of course being via Trent Junction and the Erewash Valley line.
  17. There's lots of info in a newly published book entitled The Back Line, about the Great Northern line from Colwick to Derby Friargate.
  18. As long as people indicate, then I'm quite willing to let them in, if I'm in the bus lane. It's twerps that don't indicate, and then proceed to cut me up that pees me off !
  19. I definitely think almost all of us have Lizzie.
  20. On the patio with my feet on the little table, with a cuppa and a hot cross bun. Just watching Mrs Fly on her hands and knees on the lawn weeding, and trimming the edges. Does life get any better ?
  21. OH God Ben, spare us the A to Z ! LOL
  22. Likewise. Nothing more to add.
