Just returned from France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. No checks until Calais on the return.

I've returned several times to the cottage I had with my ex. The first time was very unsettling, as my ex had sold up and moved on. I saw the alterations the new owners had made, and was quite upset. I recalled the very happy times I'd had there when we renovated it, and the things we'd done together. I had a few regrets about my actions, and had the odd tear or two in my eyes.
Did I do the right thing ? I'll never know, but that's life. As I've said previously, 'there are no maps for the untrodden road'. Life must go on.

Wet here, so it's jeans, long sleeved top, socks and walking shoes. God Almighty, everything appears to be so tight, as I've only worn shorts and sandals for weeks. Oh well, breathe in and hopefully my belt will still fit in the same slot !

Well done you. I bet it was traumatic at times, but that visit has given you closure on certain aspects of your time there.
I can imagine that it's lifted a massive weight from your shoulders, and has now given you a fresh outlook on your future.

Home late last night after a nine day tour of Tuscany. Tired, achy, a few insect bites, and a few Euros left.
It's sooooo comforting to be back in ones own bed, despite staying in some very nice hotels.
Ah, endless police sirens, litter and a garden that badly needs attention ! Oh well, I'll just browse through the brochure for next years treats before making an effort to face the day !

Well I'm ok with the cooking, corkscrew and bottle opener, but Dysons, washers and ironing..... Nah ! I'd have to employ a housemaid !

Well I'm busy sunning on the patio, having packed ready for my holiday in Tuscany tomorrow. Just perusing the brochure for next year, and Lake Constance, Bavaria and Leichstenstein are looking extremely favourable.

Skinny red top, or at a push, semi, green top. Anything in little plastic tubs is a no no, such as UHT, long life etc.
However, sometimes when in a restaurant, I'll finish a meal with a coffee and cream.

Yes, I was adopted in Mansfield when I was a few weeks old, so never lived in Radford. Although I did live on Bridlington St, from 1954-59 approximately.

Barrie ! I've never known my birth parents, and I've only recently seen my mothers birth certificate, and she had me at Norton St.
We may have the same dad. We could be related. You could be my older brother! LOL

I often have a drive out to the Rother Valley Country Park on a Sunday, and there's always a fantastic display of waterskiing over obstacles etc. Fascinating, and good bacon cobs in the cafe, after a walk around the lake !

Many people probably had their first tattoos done in prison anyway. You can always tell the amateurish exhibits !
