I get inundated with the damn things when I'm on utube.

I'm getting wary of these Cookie acceptance pop ups, and the so called privacy notices. I've become very blasé about the whole thing, and press 'accept' constantly. Maybe I should be more vigilant !

Always had corned beef and chips, with lashings of brown sauce at the Bobbers Mill Cafe, when I worked on Mr Softee's. 1968.
Set me up nicely for Bestwood, Bestwood Pk, and Edwards Ln Estate.

Saw him at the Dungeon too, but was never keen. Too poppy, and not soulful enough !

Can anyone remember which steam engines they saw hauling the South Yorkshireman or Master Cutler ?
I recall between 55-62 the following. Black 5's, Jubilees, A3's, B1's, K3's, V2's, 9F's and Standard Class 5's. Diesels noted were class 37's, 40's and 47's. Any others ?

Not Motown, but none can compare to Otis Redding IMHO.

It's reassuring to see that some of us still speak and understand proper English ! Well done.

Actually, I think there's more, but they're botanical terms derived from Latin I presume. Do they count ?

Blimey Lizzie, it's a bit early for resurrecting the old grey matter !

Well it's been so hot here, I've struggled to cope. I had to carry the cushions up to the top of the garden, for the Bistro set, where I had my breakfast. I had to fetch a book to read, and extra coffee. It was cool there, and in shade.
Later, I had to get the cushions for the patio set, and eat a ham sandwich that Mrs Fly had made. It was hot by then, but I managed to put the umbrella up, and fetch my own chilled drinks.
Where was Mrs Fly you might add.... She was only weeding, potting three new plants, pruning, sweeping the top slabbing, and preparing tea.
You just can't get the staff these days !

SYO 724 F was the one I've seen in a pool, but that could be anyone's.
-
If I remember correctly, the one that went into the pool was white if that's any help.
-
Well that was an easy one. I thought everyone knew that !

Was it Dixon & Parker on Friar Lane, opposite the NBS ?

Yes, I wrote off one of the firms vans in 95. N 693 OJF.

There's already a topic mentioning this, and I was there a few days after opening, and it looked an eyesore even then. I blame the design, and the angle of the whole thing. It's very susceptible to bird droppings, the things are already badly stained. Very disappointing indeed.

Wot ! No blokes ?

Just been out to top up my mobile. Went to four ATM's, to find that there's no facility now.
Ended up at Tesco's, and now have to go through the palaver of buying a credit slip, then phoning EE and type in a 16 digit code.
Some folks certainly know how to make an easy process difficult ! Anyone know why !

There were definitely several in the Trent Valley during WW2. There are two memorial stones on the Trentside near Bleasby, and one near Car Colston. They were training accidents I recall.
-
Albert, have you tried Chaddy's in Bulwell High Rd ?
-
Aye up RR, I need my regular supply of bacon cobs ! Agree about peat and bugs though.

Welcome Markoos. I never realised that the 508 Cafe existed. I must pay a visit soon.
Edited. Just seen that it's near the children's play area. Mmm, maybe I'll leave it.
