  1. Meet the Noo Who! With a combined age of more than 3,000 years, they are not the most obvious rock 'n' rollers. But these pensioners are causing a big s-s-sensation. Brought together for a TV documentary, they have attracted a cult following after recording a version of The Who's My Generation and are destined for chart stardom. The group, who are 40 in number and call themselves The Zimmers, pulled in an audience of 20,000 within a couple days of posting their video on the websites YouTube and MySpace. The Zimmers AKA The Noo Who
  2. If they are having problems now, god help them when the revellers get to work with a bottle of washing up liquid. It takes days to clean the filters and pumps out. All the foam will give it a nice snowy theme though.
  3. I don't know if anyone got their feet wet in the year 2000 flood? Found this video clip.
  4. .......Meanwhile, while you are waiting. The Zombies
  5. Good old Radio luxemburg! With Jack Jackson (Top DJ of that Era) Now here's a message from Horace Bachelor our sponsors.
  6. I agree in principle that people gabbing on mobile phones whilst driving should be punished. However, the cynic in me, tells me it's just another sconce to extract more revenue out of the motorist. I get this awful feeling that they are building up a formidable spying force in the UK, by using these so called 'Community Persons' to do more and more of the the work that the police should be doing. Not only do we have cameras monitoring our every move, now we have people in Dayglo jackets spying on us.
  7. It sounds as though it caught people unawares, and was not expected to happen? There again, sudden river surges I daresay are difficult to predict. Good way to get your feet washed zacsmum.
  8. I can't remember the first record I bought myself, but I can remember my mother buying me the 'Play it Cool' EP by Billy fury for my 18th Birthday. Nothing better than music to put a Time Stamp on events past and present.
  9. Ta muchly for clarifying that Rob. It's just that in the 15 or so years I lived down there, I had never heard anyone mention the flood. Let alone what caused it.
  10. So what was the prime cause of this flood? Heavy rain, melting snow, or what? Inquiring minds would like to know.
  11. If music had been a drug in the sixties, I would have had to spend a lot of time in re-hab to bring me down to earth. Placing those old 45s on the Dansette Major record player to the consternation of my parents. It wasn’t playing the records that they objected to, it was my singing along with the music that used to drive them nuts. When I bought a tape recorder some years later, I realised they had just cause to dread my music sessions. I suppose at that time my favourite singers would be:- Elvis Presley Buddy Holly Billy Fury Del Shannon Not forgetting Little Miss Dynamite ‘Brenda
  12. Speaking of Remote Controls. I wonder how many young ‘uns of today would have the patience to tune one of those TV’s in. Whenever you used to switch them on, you either had to adjust the vertical hold, the horizontal hold, brightness, and or contrast. Then a car or a bus went past and the picture would start rolling just when Ward Bond of Wagon Train was fending 2000 indjuns off.. You would get up to make a cuppa and fall over the coffee table due to the room being in total darkness. Then get bawled at for making a racket, never mind that your leg was broken in six places. It was never har
  13. No Sky TV or a Remote Control in this sitting room.
  14. ..If you still can't find it. It will probably be easier to do a System Restore. HTH
  15. My father used to say, "The higher you Toss-Em, the Tastier they are". Here's us thinking it was the Golden Syrup that made them delicious.
