They were, by far, the best buses of the entire fleet at the time - whenever we lent a spare to the "big house" we had a hell of a job getting it back !!

Yep - left school and 2 weeks later clocked in at Trent Bridge Works -1969

The only reason I remember 541 being the first was because when it became operational , we had nothing but trouble with the throttle release actuator - I was constantly changing and adjusting it, and I remember thinking , this system will never take off - guess I was wrong - I think the whole fleet was converted.

Looks like a Mk. 1V 'Executive' (coal barge)

Two of my "babies" from the 70's - 541 was the first to be converted to fully automatic - they are both over pits and I remember, it was a bit tight reversing them on when there was cars parked out front.

I'm not football fan at all, but I made an effort to watch England play - I thought I was watching auditions for RADA - now I know why I don't rate football as a sport !!

I know Albert Holland to speak to, and a few other members of the family when I'm on the grounds, usually at pull-on or build up. - I'm a funfair enthusiast - always have been since my first memorable visit to Goose Fair in 1958 !!

Me too in the mid 80's and 90's - I used to scrap a Jaguar almost every week - a bare shell filled with as much rubbish as we could find and get between £80 - £100 a time !

Tony Iommi (Frank) - my all time guitar hero - so much so that I bought one of his signature Eggle S.G.'s , 21 years ago - left handed of course with cross inlays - still got it !! -
If that's right , it will just be old age and poverty which is causing my memory loss !!

I left in 1980 and as I recall, I was still servicing Bulwell ,Central Market, and of course, Trent Bridge. - occasionally, I had to go to Sherwood and Bilboro' if Norman was off at Sherwood.

Can't say that I do. - What year was this Ian ?

Looks like a Norton Jubilee 250cc ? I had one stuck in the back of the garage - every now and again I would dig it out, spend 10 minutes kicking it over, but it never fired up once !! - swapped it for a Panther 600cc combo.

Coincidentally , my Dad was a driver on this rota in the late 50's early 60's - I often used to ride with him for an entire shift. (for free of course)
