  1. How long do we have to wait for the info, mick2me?
  2. On the beach at Sutton On Sea. I'm on the far right.
  3. Here's a photo of me in the Fary Dell. I'm the good looking muscular one. If you can't see anyone that fits that description, I'm top left.
  4. I'll bet we all went to the Fairy Dell Paddling Pool in Skegness when we were kids.
  5. I think that most people went to Skegness, Mablethorpe or around that region when we were kids. Us kids prefered staying in a caravan to a boarding house because it was exciting and you got more freedom. It was more work for my parents but, as kids, we weren't really bothered about that...lol. The photo below is of me, my sister and next eldest brother making sure my mum hurried up with the dinner..lol. Even from an early age you could tell that I'd grow up to be a good looking, muscular, benjamin1945 lookalike.
  6. I saw this comical shop sign when I was on holiday in Cascais, Portugal.
  7. Another great Nottingham achievment that gets little acknowledgment from the Nottstalgians. https://www.trentbridge.co.uk/news/2017/september/christians-praise-for-record-breaking-partnership.html
  8. BilboroughShirley, this is a photo of Grainger Street which, as you can see from Cliff Ton's map, is a couple of streets away. The space on the right of Moreland Street was wasteland and the space at the bottom, between Moreland Street and Holme Street was also wasteland. This is the place where we had our bonfire every year and everyone from the area used to come to it. In the bottom right hand corner of Cliff ton's map, on Freeth Street, you will see a space. This is where the fuel depot was and when the bonfire was blazing away you'd always get the fire brigade come flying down Moreland Str

  11. Lizzie, I'm really pleased to read the good news and I wish you a speedy recovery. It's taken a while but, like you state, you'll soon be back to leading a normal life again.
  12. I'm sorry to read about your daughter, Commo and can understand the stress that both of you, and other members of your family, must be going through. I hope she gets the treatment she needs and I wish her well for the future.
  13. Welcome to Nottstalgia, FlamsteedFan. I look forward to reading your posts and sharing your memories.
  14. That's a really meaningful comment, The Pianoman. I'll bet nobody has heard that one before. For the Nottstalgians who do like to read about England doing well, whether it be football or otherwise, England beat Spain 2-0.
  15. The England Women's football team are currently playing Spain in the group stages of the 2017 UEFA Women's European Championships in Holland. They beat Scotland 6-0 in their opening game.
  16. Welcome to Nottstalgia, Trevor Wright. I look forward to reading your posts and sharing your memories.
  17. I'm sorry to learn that you have an eye problem, Margie. You have my sympathy and best wishes.
  18. I was sad to learn that dgbrit had passed away and I send my condolences to his family. He'd been ill for a few years and was a valued member of Nottstalgia.
  19. The magic of Nottstalgia brings Jill and Jodi together through their posts. I love these sort of threads.
  20. I received a phone call this morning from a lady at the Treatment Centre, where I had my hernia repair op done. She asked me how I was feeling and if I'd got any infection or pain, stuff like that. I still get mild aches and pains from the groin area but that's to be expected for a couple of weeks. I really appreciated her call as it shows that they care and you're not just a number. I've been to the Treatment Centre a few times now and always found everything to be first class.
