Ailments, Aches & Pains. (Let's hear them here)
Michael Booth replied to FLY2's topic in Owt' Abaaht Nowt !
I received a phone call this morning from a lady at the Treatment Centre, where I had my hernia repair op done. She asked me how I was feeling and if I'd got any infection or pain, stuff like that. I still get mild aches and pains from the groin area but that's to be expected for a couple of weeks. I really appreciated her call as it shows that they care and you're not just a number. I've been to the Treatment Centre a few times now and always found everything to be first class. -
I noticed that there aren't any privacy settings on Postimage. If there are I must have missed them last night.

Emperor's suit of clothes!
Michael Booth replied to Beduth's topic in Questions about use of Forums?
A lot of the Nottstalgian's only have a limited knowledge of computers so any change is a big thing to them. Everyone, with the help of the other Members, soon get the hang of it all. When I first joined Nottstalgia I had a problem putting photos on here because I'd never done it before. Everything I tried just wouldn't work but, with some help from you all, I mastered it and then wondered why it'd taken so long as it was so easy. -

I agree with your comments, MargieH. I never really had a problem with it despite having to do things differently. -
Here's a photo of Thoresby Hall, my first attempt with Postimage so fingers crossed.

It's a case where words in the English language can have different meanings, loppylugs. I realise you didn't have an 'issue' with Phil as you are two of Nottstalgia's gentlemen.

I can't remember the last time I washed my car. The other day I was driving along Wilford Lane and saw a car wash sign near a sports centre. As my car needed a wash I pulled in and there were five or six foreign chaps. They all had their own part of the car to do and did a great job for £6. Regarding the other issue between philmayfield and loppylugs it doesn't interest me where the chaps came from or if they're on the fiddle. The whole World is full of crime, corruption and all the other things you know about so the only thing that interested me was getting my car clean. I had to smile w

The first time I saw them was when I was driving along Hempshill Lane. I was going to the Northern Cemetery to tend to the grave of a foster child who'd been part of my family. It's true that they seem to be creepy but they do make you check your speed.

I was listening to Radio Nottingham in the car this morning and they were doing an interview with a female member of the cast. The farce is getting great Press revues so I can understand why you found it so funny.

I realise that PB haven't handled this very well and can understand the feelings of the Nottstalgians. However, if Nottstalgia is at risk of being decimated with the loss of all it's photos etc, isn't it worth paying the small fee to keep it intact until something is worked out.

Ailments, Aches & Pains. (Let's hear them here)

Thanks for your good wishes regarding my operation yesterday. Everything went well and the only discomfort I had was the needle in the back of my hand. The anaesthetist told me that it would feel cold but it really started to hurt and before I could say anything I was asleep. After the op I was taken back to my room and was given ham sandwiches (cheese and egg were the other options), biscuits and two cups of coffee. I got changed and watched the TV as I waited for my eldest daughter to collect me. This afternoon I felt really tired and my shoulders and stomach were aching. I took a coupl -

All the best for tomorrow, carni. I really hope things go well for you. There'll be a part of tomorrow when I won't be thinking of anything because I'll be on the chopping block having a hernia repair operation. I'm not looking forward to having it done but I'll feel a lot better when it is. -
My neighbour, a little silver-haired old lady, called me and said, "Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle and I can't figure out how to get started." I asked her, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?" The little old lady said, "According to the picture on the box, it's a rooster." I decided to go over and help her with the puzzle. She let me in and showed me where she had the puzzle spread all over the table. I studied the pieces for a moment then looked at the box, then turned to her and said, "First of all, no matter what we

Becket School et al.
Michael Booth replied to mick2me's topic in All other Nottingham Schools Discussions
There's an article in the Nottingham Post regarding a teacher from the Becket School. I realise that many of you wouldn't have been there at the same time as him but it's possible your children/grandchildren may have been. http://www.nottinghampost.com/retired-teacher-who-arranged-child-sex-abuse-in-philippines-jailed-for-life/story-30394076-detail/story.html -
Bing (#5), Dashlane is a free programme that automatically enters your names, passwords, credit card information and other details on Websites. Really!. In my opinion anyone using Dashlane must be crazy.

It's on Southchurch Drive/Swansdowne Drive. near the Clifton Cornerstone (Medical Practice). I've looked on Google Maps and it's official name is Central Park, the Flower Park must be the name everyone knows it by.

Robin Hood Allotments
Michael Booth replied to tabbyoddsocks's topic in Kat's Carlton, Mapperley, Arnold & Sherwood Forum
I enjoyed reading your post about Nottingham when you were a little girl, tabbyoddsocks. The bit about your Mum doing the weeding had me laughing. It's always good to see Cliff Ton come up with a map to show us where these places are. -
After reading your post, plantfit, I remembered seeing this photo in the Nottingham Post. It's a new playing area for children in the Flower Park in Clifton.

Madonna shares my birth date, August 16th. My worst birthday was in 1977 when Elvis Presley died.

You'll have to put the photos onto Nottstalgia, John as I'm sure there are some of us that would like to see them.

There'd never be a dull moment with these two.

Thanks, carnie. I've just been reading it all again and really enjoyed it.
