  1. I feel like such a traitor.. thinking belvoir was in nottingham! just googled it, it IS in leicestershire..I would of never of thought it was THAT far out, used to take us all of half hour to get there from burton joyce area

  4. Wheres your favorite nottingham places? Maybe somewhere with a little meaning to you or just somewhere you love? .i love belvoir castle! In the summer, me and my boyfriend would drive up n just sit in the fields around it, just chatting.. i love how beautiful it is up there! I also generally love any old building in nottingham .. the ones that are still about n havent been nocked down for flats that is!

I love drawing.. i dont get much time to do any of it now though but (without sounding bigheaded) My drawings are pretty damn good.. i wanted to become a tattooist myself but had no idea how to go about it so ended up in the pub trade lol. Im still a tattoo virgin myself though, but had quite a few piercings that are no longer in.. i miss them! Think ill have to give it a bash at making some clothes when i get the sewing machine of beefsteak, never tried woodcarving though - id have no idea where to start!

  7. My OH allways calls me a granny, cos i sit there infront of the telly doing me knitting with a nice cuppa tea! haha .. wont be saying that when hes stolen the patchwork blanket im making when hes cold! lol
  8. Oooh sorry, i should really check through the forums to see if theres any clashing threads! My bad. My favorite music really depends on my mood.. i listen to literally anything apart from classical & that gangster rap sh*t as you said beefsteak.. whats the point in it exactly? my guilty pleasure with music is rock music.. any type of rock, when i go rock city, i allways have to visit the 'basement'.. & I love all the older stuff too. Favorite films for me are; This is england, Quadraphenia, Harry brown, The recent tim burton Alice in wonderland, Cruel intentions Paranormal activity
  9. Im always upto something creative whenever i get a change (IE when babies sleeping.. at night when OH's home). I do alot of drawing, knitting, sewing, photography... & Today iv done my first painting on canvass! Just something for babies room so nothing amazing, couple of cartoony flowers. Anyone else in here creative? What sort of stuff do you make/do? would love to hear other peoples creative little hobbies!

  15. Have you tried genesriunited? A friend uses that.. they say theyv found family history to a good couple hundred years ago, although on eome things you have to have a payed membership to view the documents, but i think its only £1something a month. Havent used it myself, i just ask my friend to have a look if i want to find anything

Was told the houses in Netherfield are quite old (i guessed that by the layout of the house too)..I made a thread about looking for my house history but history about Netherfield streets that would be fantastic. The old train lines that would of gone to gedling pit are still there, unused were the kids from around here somehow get on them & play. It still has that community spirit, its a place were everyone knows one another, even if they dont know each other by name.. theres allways someone local who would help you out if you needed it, again, even if they barely knew you.   17. Whatever website i use to look at the census.. they try and charge me! ...A friend of mine pays to use a website, and hes been trying to help me trace my family tree... STILL cant find my grandmother who should be on the 1911 census :/

  19. I moved here about a year ago, Iv heard some 'back in the day' stories & The area sounded asif it was actually decent back then, What happend!? Theres worser areas than netherfield.. but its still not great. Iv never really had any problems myself here, but with its reputation.. i dont venture out after dark on my own if i can help it. ..Anyone got any memories of the area? Maybe some old photos? Id love to see/Hear what people have to post!

  21. I went to the wheldon school.. I started there just after it got burnt down.. Anyone got any pics of what the school used to look like? It has its original science block and the cafe was still there but everything else was rebuilt. ...Also, not called frank wheldon or the wheldon school anymore. Its now the 'Carlton accademy', New teachers, rules & uniforms.
  22. I know it was only 11-15 years ago for me being back at primary school.. But ill allways remember the indoor playtimes, when it was too wet outside to play. & the teachers kindly got the lego out, boom.. Oh how we all got excited & had lego house building compotitions, none of us ever won though mind.. We was all too adoment that our house was the best!

  24. Mick, In relation to your blue ray player & having no BR DVD's to watch.. Have a look on Play.com, iv seen a few on there for a 5er with free delivery! Bargain! ..Play.com are doing hundreds of items £5 with free delivery for christmas, takes 3-5 for items to be delivered. My bargain of this week? Spent £50 on the boots website, got the delivery, looked in the box to everything (almost) In broken packaging, rang them up & they let me keep all the items under £10 & sent me free replacements and emailed me something to print off to take into store for the more expensive items to ge
