  1. I too always thought as described above was goose fair weather. Same weather applies for bonfire night, with a touch of misty type rain thrown into the mix.
  2. This person isn't a blood relation, so it annoyes me all the more. Iv heard many excuses for their ignorance, some being hilarious! There's just no excuse. Iv been told I cannot control people, which I have no intention of. But when you enter my home, my space, then at least have some decency to be polite. They even complained that their eating up their internet allowence and could I give them my wifi password oh and a charger! How bloomin rude. Now with my younger family, they use their phones a fair bit. But I don't mind at all and they do have my wifi for when they come over. Because usua

    films!

Have you ever been to the Savoy cinema? I only go there now, it's much cheaper & they even do orange Wednesdays. I'm not with orange but someone will send me the code for my rare visit to the cinema. They seem to turn the volume down, I went to see a film and the room only had a handful of people as it had been out a while and it was no where near as loud as somewhere like showcase would be. I love going their, much better atmosphere too with it being an older cinema. Loved avatar also, iv watched it a few times whenever its on tv. It took me a second time to watch it and understand it fu
  4. I LOVE a good horror, I choose this genre over all others. Second I love a comedy, then a tear jerker... And I also love the old films (the original wizard of oz, breakfast at tiffany's etc) Anyways, I went to see he conjuring last night, and as a horror fan, I was shocked at how rubbish it was! Too many 'stolen' ideas jumped out at me from Amityville, polterguest, paranormal activity, insidious... Tonight a friend leant us The Devil Inside. This looked good when it was in the cinema last year but I never got a chance to go see it. Again, I'm shocked, it was rubbish! Anyone seen any fil
  5. Can't remember what it's like to have a waist! Since having a baby I can't get rid of my muffin top.. went on slimming world and dropped from a size 12 to an 8.. but lately I can't help myself at all, far too much cake and biccies with me cuppa tea! And the muffin top is back....
  6. I also hate it when people can't say THANK YOU when I hold a door for them. If I'm going to stand with a pushchair or at least stop my toddler from running off while I hold the door open for someone as I see them walking up I at least expet a 'thanks'. I'm always saying thank you to people for when they step out of the way or hold a door, I often say to myself 'right, I'll be just as ignorant as the rest then and I won't move oht of people's way' usually in town, but I just can't do it! I'm too much of a nice person to be ignorant. It's a shame really.
  7. I think being 12 is fine, they're all like it at that age. But being mid 50s is another story....
  8. Ooft, warm fresh baked scons with a scrape of nutella!!
  9. I would very much like your opinions of manners, if someone comes to visit your home - do you expect themto have any? I only ask as I can't stand ignorance, I have a family member who whenever they visit, we all get ignored, theysit on their phone and literally lay on my sofa. Iv been told I'm out of order for saying 'if your going to ignore my 2 year old to sit on your phone. Don't bother visiting any more' this isn't a young person either. Anyways, this isn't a rant. I just want to know what people expect form visiters etc. I always keep my phone in my bag when out with friends or visiti
  10. Ok so it doesn't include foraging... Unless you can get your hands on these 3 ingrediants. But when winter rolls in I make the following and store in jars and keep in the fridge. Slice lemons into circular pieces, chop ginger to however you want and pack it all in the jar. Then fill with honey but it's best to do it in stages to let it fill the gaps and settle to the bottom then continue to fill the jar with the remaining honey. Pop it in the fridge for at least a day and it'll set into a loose sort of jelly consistency, but if it's a little runny it still works. When you feel a cold coming
  11. I can remember it being grass and mud when I was a kid... I havent been in years.
  12. They're more of a second hand furniture place. They buy the stuff from people at a low/reasonable rate and sell for much much more! I enquired about a sofa they had once, it was just a 2 seater and it had seen better days but a friend of mine was sat on boxes and was looking for a sofa. Anyways they wanted £140! Rediculas.
  13. Might make some scones this weekend. After seeing this thread pop back up I can't help but crave fresh scons and home made jam... I'll have to miss out on the home made jam part though! Add some glacier cherries to the mix! They're lovely, I love them made that way.
  14. I had planned to go on Friday morning! I hope it's not just sludge... I don't own any wellies!
  15. As a stay at home mum, I spend an awful lot of time with her and I love every minute! I can't believe two years ago she was a tiny newborn and now she's this cheeky toddler with a vocab of a 3 year old, she will have a proper conversation with you in sentences... But has started the annoying 'why' phase. But I can't help but laugh as she stands there asking why. Now she's older and she's able to do things, we spend a lot of time playing with her dolls and peppa pig...it's scary that in the blink of an eye she will be an 'independent' teen, not wanting her mum around.
  16. Totally agree mudgie! I make sure I always have something to smile about the day iv had, even if iv had a bad day, before I close my eyes to sleep that night. I make the most of everything, even if it's very little. And I value the time I spend with family and my friends, especially my daughter. It's just this summer has got to be the worst for me, a close relation was ill with a life threatoning condition but luckily they have made a full recovery. My old friend was murdered and my father + best friend passed away within 5 days of each other. So my summer has been filled with nothing but
  17. At school, they told me I was dyslexic. And I spent a couple of school years going to these 'special' classes for writing. 9 years on and I would say my spelling is ok. I hope so... Because I somehow got qualified to being a preschool teacher haha m)
  18. Iv always said white rabbits, white rabbits, white rabbits apon waking up on the first day of the month. I'm glad this year has flown by, rubbish year and I can't wait to see the back of it! But, bring on festivities and celebrations now autumn is here and winter draws in...
  19. Just reminded me, I was in BnM bargains the other day and they have a set of four small oven proof dishes for serving individual portions of things. I might go get a set as they're only £2. You could make your self a rice pud in one & the lady another pud in another. They look great for little pies or pasta dishes.
  20. Had a letter through the door regarding my late father, it was quite a sensitive letter.. and I found it quite insensitive that not only was all my name & address spelt incorrectly, the letters of my name were jumbled up. They could of at least double checked that letters were in the correct order even if it's miss-spelt. If it was a letter of a less sensitive nature I'd be more forgiving.
  21. Could always make yourself a individual bowl? Go on, treat yasen!
  22. I love rice pudding! Mum used to make us one and the skin was my favourite. Might make some at the weekend.
  23. I'm rubbish at poetry. Now give me some paints + paper and that's a different story.
  24. My goodness that's gone fast! Anyone else found this year has flown by? In 8/9 weeks we will be waking up thinking how we only have 25 days till Christmas!!
  25. Gonna try that matt, thanks for that. I'm dusting off the slow cooker again tomorrow for another stroganoff requested by the mr! This time with two large slabs of stewing steak, going to chop them up & slow cook them with chopped onions, then I'll whack the sauce into a pan (just a packet one) and add the meat as I can't bear the thought of milk in a sauce being slow cooked! And it'll be served with rice Me and my daughter love rice, and my favorite is when I make Jamaican chicken. When the chicken is cooked, mix in all the juices that's in the dish into the rice as it all has the seas
