  4. My grandad always told me a story, In 1942 he was a 12 year old living on Colwick Road, One day, him, his brother Dennis and there mates were playing in the road when a german airplane, think he said " Messerschmidt" ? probably spelt it wrong, came down colwick road and started shooting up the road. Everybody walking had to dive for cover as quick as they could. Another time during the Nottingham Blitz, His family were taking shelter during the big air raid of May, when an incendiary bomb came thought the roof and landed in the bathroom (they had a posh house for the 40's) the bomb didn't go

  7. The Godfrey House on Dr Parks Corner was in my family, that was a massive house untill its shameful demolition in the mid 90's But i do remember the original Park House. Least they kept the stained glass from the windows.
  8. Carlton House is still there, and very much lived it. The owners told me few days ago they opened the basement as it had been sealed somepoint in the 50's. What they found was amazing! Row among ow of stone pews which would suggest it must of been used as a temporary church at somepoint before any of the churches were built in Carlton. The house was built in the 1720's.
  9. Thats amazing! Thanks, I knew there was cottages at the top, My dad said he used to play in the ruins of them as a kid in the very early 60's
