  1. I am a person who has Dyspraxia which is is a chronic neurological disorder beginning in childhood and lasting into adulthood that can affect planning of movements and co-ordination as a result of brain messages not being accurately transmitted to the body. Typical symptoms include:

Poor balance. Difficulty in riding a bicycle, going up and down hills

Poor posture and fatigue. Difficulty in standing for a long time as a result of weak muscle tone. Floppy, unstable round the joints. Some people with dyspraxia may have flat feet

Poor integration of the two sides of the body. Difficulty with some sports involving jumping and cycling

Poor hand-eye co-ordination. Difficulty with team sports especially those which involve catching a ball and batting. Difficulties with driving a car

Lack of rhythm when dancing, doing aerobics

Clumsy gait and movement. Difficulty changing direction, stopping and starting actions plus many other things.

I recently found this forum which is basically a dyspraxic haven for people who think what they go through they are the only people. Ive found this very very helpful so please do pass it on if you know anybody who has Dyspraxia.

  2. Ive always been fascinated by old wedding photo's so i would be very interested to see everyone elses. This is my Grandma and Grandads wedding in June 1955 at Ashwell Street Methodist church, Netherfield. They hired a double decker bus from Nottingham corpo to take all the guests to the wedding reception which was held in the Ballroom at the Elite on Parliament Street

L - R are: Great grandfather Ernest Peck, Marjory Hammond nee Peck ( grandads cousin), Leonard Turville (granddads step brother), Great grand-step mother Mable Peck nee Small, Magda Peck ( Grandads neice), My grandad Walter Peck, My grandma, Joan Peck Nee Bennett, Great Grandmother Ethel Bennett, Sheila Peck ( grandads youngest sister) and my Great Grandfather William " Billy" Bennett.

As ive said in previous postings, I still have that wedding dress: It was made out of 11 yards of embossed Damask and cost my grandma ( more than likely her dad paid for it!) £32 11s 6p PER yard and was made for her by her neighbor on Harrogate Street. Plus i have the horseshoes, the veil and the wooden spoon shes holding with the flowers.

  3. Going as fast as we can beachbum, Its one strip of land outside our house that is holding us up. No one can find who owns it, we thought we sorted this out as land registry went back to 1750 and sorted it, however they are now not satisfied and now want to come and take pictures, so it could be November before we get up there now
