  1. Netherfield was opened in 1878 under the name of Colwick, renamed in 1883 to Netherfield and Colwick, renamed again in 1901 as Netherfield, renamed AGAIN in 1925 as Netherfield and Colwick again and then renamed a final time in 1974 to Netherfield. Carlton was opened in 1846 as Carlton and Netherfield and renamed Carlton in 1974.....confused? i am. But yes would definatly prefere an ornate building compared to a bus stop on concreat.

  2. My great grandmother was living on that road when that photo was taken, her husband had died previously in the year, My dad can remember Henry Lloyd ( the man posing) and he can remember the bloke who owned the black van halfway down the road. It hasnt really altered since that photo was taken.

  3. I was there between 1993 and 1998, i can remember all the old buildings that they have now torn down including the sports hall, outside toilets and the 3 outside class rooms on the right hand side that i think included the cookery room.

My dad was there sometime in the early 60's and early 70's, i do remember him saying that displine was tough even then.

  4. There was a couple named Bennett who lived on Harrogate Street when we first got married in 1971 and lived in a flat at the corner of Meadow Road and Harrogate Street.

I think that he had been or was a window cleaner and his wife worked with my wifes mother at outside catering events for the Corner House Cafe. Nice couple always pleasant.

Yes they lived at number 7 Harrogate street, You can maybe remember my dad comming up to see them then, Trevor Peck. When my great grandma died we took over the house and we didng finally move out untill 1998.
