Between Castle gate and Middle gate there is a small alleyway and at the entrance off Castle gate are these unusual bricks set into the wall about twelve to fifteen inches from the ground, the story is when the alleyway was constructed 17th/18th century men would urinate against the wall to help combat this practice these angled bricks (some with fluted tops) was set into the wall therefore directing any urine from the culprit back towards his trousers and boots, I don't know whether it did stop the practice but I think we could do with something like these against some of the walls in some ci

  24. I have had many cats in the past and have all been trained to use a litter tray and mainly stayed in their own garden but the things we have roaming around the place at the moment are fast becoming a pest, the owners or whatever you call them are not at all interested in what they get upto, the cats leave their house via an upstairs window and return the same way, for what it's worth I agree with every thing you say, I know this might upset a lot of members on here but when the grandchildren come in from playing in the garden covered in cat muck and I see clumps of feathers from dead birds und
