  1. Very well said Brew,I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of but I don't want everyone knowing my business Rog
  2. Doesn't bother me either but you need to ask yourself what could this information be used for, Rog
  3. by shopping on line your purchases/ amounts spent/buying habits are all monitored by the banks and retailers, you are being watched and by visiting out of town retail parks your image and or motor vehicle registration details are being recorded for the same reasons, big brother knows your every move from what shops/stores you visit and the frequency of those visits, is this what the powers that be want by encouraging you to shop in these retail parks where you drive into the car park, visit whatever shops/stores are in that park, whereas in towns you have a choice of car parks and are monitore
  4. Very true Barrie, yes the closure of the collieries didn't help but the local councils have failed to invest in their towns and the rot has set in, Retford is not too bad yet but you can see a slight decline by shops closing and the weekly markets getting smaller, Newark as well, charity shops, nail bars, cafe's,like Phil says the out of town retail parks have took away nearly all of the trade away from the town centers and pay to park your car doesn't help, a few years ago we used to go up the A1 to Barnsley once a month for their Saturday market, free car parking on market days the place was
  5. It's a shame to see the place decline at such a rapid rate Barrie and looking at the state of the place I think the pokey would be a better alternative Rog
  6. I agree with you about Worksop Newarker, the place has really gone down hill, it's as if the locals have given up and been forgotten by the local council, the market is half of what it used to be and even the canal bank is giving up the ghost and started to fall into the water Rog
  7. There's a full N gauge layout for sale on Facebook market place Lincoln for four hundred quid minus loco and rolling stock, full track layout, scenery and buildings Rog
  8. I do like my Nilfisk pressure washer with additive tank, nice bit of kit Rog
  9. Very true Ban, was down Newark market this morning, gone is the buzz of the old markets and the local council have cut out two of the market days now so only three market days, it seems like the council want to shut down the town center, we stopped going to Worksop market a couple of years ago for the same reason, not many market stalls and closed down shop the place is now so run down, such a shame for the people who live there Rog
  10. The adverts say "repairs usually while you wait" Rog
  11. End of 130 years trading in Newark, , high rates and high energy bills have forced the popular butchers and provisions shop to close, another great loss to Newark which is rapidly becoming a ghost town, Half the shops on Stodman street have closed and left the town, Wetherspoons gone,M&S closed, all that seems to be left are mobile phone repairs, nail bars (6 of them) and charity shops (who are now charging just below brand new shop prices Rog
  12. I use 3mm bright steel bar with the ends roughed to help it stick to the PVA glue, the middle joints I drill out to 4mm to allow for movement, the two outside edges are drilled out to 3.5mm, where the arms meet the shoulders I use 1 inch fence nails of the same diameter as the bright bar, body of the frog/gollifrog/doll are drilled to 3.5mm with a drop of PVA glue dripped in the hole and the arm drilled to 4mm for movement, I use nails because the nail head allows the arm to rotate without coming off if that makes sense Rog
  13. about ten miles today, spent a lot of my time watching the Red Arrows practicing, anyway got up towards Boothby Graffoe before heading back to Linga Lane Bassingham A few people walking along the shared cycle/footpath with their heads buried in their mobile phones, don't think they heard me ringing my bell because of some of the comments from them, "wow didn't you see me" and "you need to look where you're going" couldn't be bothered to give them an answer so I'll let them reflect on their day, anyway enjoyed the ride and the fresh air Rog
  14. That time of the year again when most of my hobbies are done in the shed as opposed to outside the shed so now I have made a start on this year batch of articulated wooden dolls/frogs/"Pudsey's", first to take shape will be the frogs/gollifrogs Hopefully they turn out as nice as these Rog
  15. Been to Lincoln today with Mrs P for her eye test after the cataract op in August, all good and now waiting for the next appointment at Louth hospital to get her other eye done, one thing I did notice while waiting for her in the city was the amount of foreign accents, as a rough guess I would say they outnumbered the English accent by about ten to one (seriously) Mainly not students but whole families including husbands, wives, grandparents, kids, to be honest I felt like a foreigner myself in my own country, I know this post will ruffle a few feathers but so what Rog
  16. Back from just over a week in Edinburgh so had the grass to cut and the bit of the field I strimmer, shopping done early this morning time for a sit down, catch up on emails and websites and just chill out, I notice quite a few words in that statement that either wasn't around when I was younger (chill out, emails, websites, strimmer) another sign of getting old Rog
  17. Excellent Barrie, a real talent, thanks for posting them Rog
  18. Female Sparrowhawk trying to shelter from the rain yesterday on my garden fence in front of the living room window, I took the picture through the window that's why it's not all that sharp [/ur Rog
