In case you wonder where the people in the pic, and indeed other Trent/Gem AM presenters are now, here's the answer. Basically there are two Internet only radio stations that are now the "homes" for us old Trenters! Radio Trent 301 has John Peters, Guy Morris, Jeff Cooper, Ron Coles ,Jeff Owen, and Tim Rogers. Solid Gold Gem AM has myself, Andy Marriott ( Marrow) Len Groat, Krissi Carpenter, Paul Burbank, and Mark Mason. Might well be it! I remember there being an Italian which was basement level higher up the street, it became an Indian at a later date, but as I said, it was almost at the top of St James St, too high up for it to be part of The Albany building.

By the way, at the time the pic was taken, Graham Knight had moved to the Beeb, and Pete, older brother of Rob Wagstaff was at Beacon in Wolverhampton, or as their locals called it, Bacon Radiow.

He was a mate at Claremont school, although older than me, and was well known at The Dungeon, and he rest of he clubs in Nottm of that era. His funeral is at Bramcote at 2:45, and then The White Lion Swingate Kimberley

I'm sad to inform any former mods and anyone that frequented The Dungeon in the mid 60's that one of the "faces" sadly passed away last Sunday due to cancer. He was Chris Nichols, a school mate from Claremont, although few years older than me, and it was at The Dungeon I got to know him better. I remember his bottle green bespoke suit, and going to his place one Friday evening to watch the Otis Redding special on Ready Steady Go! On the black and white telly! Just to even up the posts a bit, a little bit of mod stuff then. Shopping in Beeston a week or so back, I bumped into a guy that was one of the well know faces from the Dungeon, non other than "Little Eric" remember him.? Often suited and booted in a bottle green suit with the mandatory massive single 13" vent! I mentioned the Macmillan Cancer Care Motown night at The Polish Club on March 16' and he said he's going to try and get there, it would be good if as many former Dungeon dwellers and original mods could get there, but despite there being a month till its on, tickets are usually so

I used to paddle all the way along from where the bridge is opposite the market, to where the concrete area that housed the swings and roundabout, and remember the leeches getting into my wellies when the water went over the top of them! My mum also tells me that I fell into the Leen and had to be rescued by gypsy's too! I don't remember that at all............

No I didnt know him, I actually applied to a firm called New Junktion Discotheques, to be a mobile jock, weddings and functions etc, and at the audition I thought they were saying to me they didnt want me, as it turned out they were saying they thought I,d be a great club DJ, and did I still want to work for them! I obviously said yes, and I recall a two week stint working at The Heart Of The Midlands with The Dooleys in 79, before covering at a lot of the clubs NJD put DJ,s in, and ended up as resident at The Babel, but it was Dave Ross/Penna and Stewart Barnham and Keith from the audio shop

Just about my first gig as a DJ involved working at the HOTM with The Dooleys. I was a little naive I guess, and was rather disappointed at how Jim Dooley said exactly the same thing at the same time to the audiance every night! I don't think I impressed him either when one night when I was leaving, he was in the foyer signing autographs, and as I walked by he asked me what I thought of their new song, Wanted, I replied......yes its good, but it sounds so much like Abba!
